UW–Milwaukee Panther Arena is an indoor arena located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The arena, which seats as many as 12,700 people and offers 41,000 feet of floor space, is part of a larger downtown campus, that includes the Milwaukee Theatre and Wisconsin Center.The arena was part of the MECCA Complex from 1974 until the 1995 opening of the Midwest Express Center.HistoryIt opened in 1950 and was one of the first to accommodate the needs of broadcast television. It was folded into MECCA (The Milwaukee Exposition, Convention Center and Arena) when the complex opened in 1974. It is also known for its former unique basketball court painted by Robert Indiana in 1978, with large rainbow 'M's taking up both half-courts representing Milwaukee.Since the 1960s, the Arena has held a number of concerts by high-profile performers. On September 4, 1964, The Beatles played their only Milwaukee concert, at the Arena, to a sold-out crowd of screaming fans. Folk-rock icon Bob Dylan played a two-night stand there in mid-October as part of his Fall 1981 tour.It was home to the Milwaukee Hawks (1951–55) and the Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA (1968 to 1988), and hosted the 1977 NBA All-Star Game before an audience of 10,938. The venue was also home to Marquette University's men's basketball team along with the International Hockey League Milwaukee Admirals. These teams all moved to the BMO Harris Bradley Center upon the newer arena's opening in 1988.
Escape Chambers MKE is like nothing you have ever seen before. Located on the second floor of Grand Avenue Mall in downtown Milwaukee, Escape Chambers MKE is the real‐life incarnation of movies like Saw, National Treasure, Sherlock Holmes, and The DaVinci Code. Puzzles, riddles, and coded messages are your only means of escape, as this is more a mental challenge than physical. Successfully navigating the different scenarios of the rooms, require more than just brains, alone…you must learn to communicate and work together with your team members, if you want any hope of walking out the doors to freedom. Group sizes vary, based on each different scenario, and all ages are welcome; although we do recommend participants be 10 and older, as some of our rooms contain more of a “fear factor.” Scenarios differ in difficulty and intensity, depending on the size of the group. While some of the puzzles appear quite simple in their inception, adrenaline and the stress from an unyielding countdown timer, inching ever‐closer to zero, makes seemingly ordinary tasks, mentally exhilarating! The creators will put your cognitive abilities to the ultimate test, while providing a level of entertainment rarely seen these days. And unlike other escape rooms, the seamless execution of combining mind-bending riddles, adrenaline‐spiking moments of suspense and surprise, and engaging story lines, provides participants with the type of realistic experience that you simply cannot find anywhere else.

Swarmm Events Presents the Third Annual Milwaukee Taco Fest in 2016! This year's event will take place at 12pm on Sunday, June 5th at the Harley-Davidson Museum®. Created 3 years ago, Taco Fest has been bringing together local Milwaukee restaurants for a day of taco tasting, tequila, margaritas, cervezas and tons of great entertainment. The event will feature lucha libre wrestling from Mondo Lucha! Attendees vote for their favorite tacos (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) and cast their ballot to see who wins the title of Milwaukee’s Best Taco! The Marquette University College of Business Administration is one of the primary colleges at Marquette University, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with additional off-campus graduate classrooms in Waukesha and Kohler, Wisconsin.HistoryThe College of Business Administration was founded in 1910 as simply the School of Economics, and obtained its current status as a college in 1923. Forty-three years later, in 1953, the College offered its first graduate school classes. The graduate programs were spun off into the Marquette University Graduate School of Management in 2006. St. Joan of Arc Chapel is a Roman Catholic chapel today located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, on the campus of Marquette University, in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. It was dedicated to Joan of Arc on May 26, 1966, after it had been moved from its previous location on Long Island, New York. It was originally built in the Rhône River Valley in France.HistoryIn FranceOriginally named Chapelle de St. Martin de Sayssuel, the chapel was built over several generations in the French village Chasse-sur-Rhône, south of Lyon. Estimates are that it was built around the 15th century. The building was abandoned after the French Revolution and fell into ruin. After World War I, the young architect Jacques Couëlle rediscovered the chapel and negotiated a transfer to the Brookville, New York home of Gertrude Hill Gavin, the daughter of James J. Hill, best known as the founder of the Great Northern Railway. Couëlle went so far as to refer to the chapel as "ce monument absolument unique en son genre" (the most absolutely unique monument of its kind).
Gesu Church is a Jesuit parish of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Milwaukee located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was designated a Milwaukee Landmark in 1975.Although the church is not affiliated with Marquette University, through a 1991 partnership, it ministers to the downtown campus of Marquette and surrounding neighborhood.DescriptionGesu, founded in 1849 as St. Gall's Parish, initially served English-speaking Irish Catholics from the near south and west sides of Milwaukee in what was the neighborhood of Tory Hill. As the parish grew, it built Holy Name Church in 1875, and by 1887 Jesuit officials combined the two parishes into one church. The Gesu name was chosen in 1893 to honor the Church of the Gesu in Rome, where St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus, is buried.Architect Henry C. Koch designed the French Gothic building, drawing inspiration from the Cathedral of Chartres in France. It features landmark spires of unequal height and stained glass windows. The cornerstone was laid on May 23, 1893, with over 20,000 in attendance. A dedication ceremony followed on December 17, 1894, to mark the formal completion of the church.
This organization is the first of its kind on a University campus. Marquette is the first University to host a Step Up! student chapter. Last Spring, we also became the first recipients of the Nsanga Service Award. The Step Up! Marquette Chapter is dedicated to educating the student population about the history of the 1994 Rwanda genocide. Through various events involving music, dance, performance, film and lecture, the Step Up! Marquette Chapter also shares with the Marquette students and staff what is being done in Rwanda today by the national Step Up! organization to help rebuild the Rwandan women emotionally, physically and psychologically. In addition to educating the student and staff population, it also raises funds to support the healing of Rwandan women who have been the victims of sexual-based violence, as well as providing for micro-finance projects..
The J. William & Mary Diederich College of Communication (or simply Diederich College of Communication) is one of the primary colleges at Marquette University, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The college is named for J. William Diederich, a former executive at Landmark Media Enterprises, and his wife, Mary.HistoryThe College of Communication was founded in 1910 as the School of Journalism. Decades later, the School of Journalism merged with the Schools of Performing Arts, Speech and Communication to form what is now the College of Communication. In May 2005, Bill and Mary Diederich, both graduates of the university, donated $28 million to support the college. At the time, it was the single largest gift to Marquette, and the university renamed the college as the J. William and Mary Diederich College of Communication in their honor.Since 1975, the college has been housed in Johnston Hall, one of the oldest buildings on Marquette's campus and the only one owned by the university to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places.ProgramsThe Diederich College of Communication offers bachelor's and master's degrees as well as interdisciplinary and dual-degree programs in conjunction with other schools.
