For over 80 years, the Gehl family has been providing wood flooring to Wisconsin residential and commercial markets. In its early years, Gehl flooring was known as Supreme Flooring, which dates back to 1929. The first known photograph of the company was taken on Fond du Lac Ave in 1938. As the company evolved, the name changed in 1946 to Gehl Flooring. Gehl grew with the Milwaukee market, and the industry professionals recognized them as the place to get wood flooring. By 1989, Gehl Flooring Supply, Inc. was established as Wisconsin’s wholesale distributor of the industry’s top name brands for wood flooring, finishes and equipment. Four Generations of the Gehl family have been part of the many projects and places that make Milwaukee and the surrounding communities what they are today. Gehl Flooring products and dedication to the industry can be found in many aspects of our everyday lives. From our office buildings, schools and shopping malls, to our sports arenas, art/history museums, and our personal residences -- Gehl Flooring is proud to be part of the building blocks of the past and working for the future generations.
