The Department of Drama at UNC Asheville supports a comprehensive theatre education that supports four areas of study; a general track, acting and directing track, production and design, and licensure. All students share a common core of classes that help establish critical thinking skills with a sense of aesthetics. These learned skills are then applied in our laboratory, the mainstage productions. The mainstage shows have auditions that are open to the entire UNC Asheville community and we invite all in the Asheville area to attend.

Kimmel Arena is the home of the UNC Asheville Bulldogs basketball programs, both men and women's. It is a 3,200-seat arena located on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Asheville in Asheville, North Carolina. Kimmel Arena, named for local businessman Joe Kimmel, is part of the much larger Wilma M. Sherrill Center, which is a 133,500sqft facility. The arena held its first games, both exhibitions, on November 7, 2011, and formally opened November 13, 2011, as UNC Asheville hosted the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. It replaces the Justice Center as UNCA's home court, but the latter will remain as a training facility and physical education complex.EventsPast events include; Bulldog Basketball, the Gala Gymnastics Meet, Colt Ford - music concert, Florida Georgia Line – music concert, the Carolina Day Holiday classic basketball tournament, 2012 Big South Conference Men's Basketball Tournament, American Bridge Club regional tournament, and Gluten Free Food Expo.

In 1893, ten young women at Lombard College in Galesburg, Illinois, shared a vision and a dream of a national organization dedicated to the personal growth of women. Their dream became Alpha Xi Delta, one of the oldest women’s fraternities in the United States. The timeless ideals envisioned by Alpha Xi Delta’s Founders remain constant throughout the years, inspiring pride in each member to pursue individual excellence. Now a national fraternity with more than 150,000 initiated members, our Fraternity is a progressive organization with college chapters and alumnae associations throughout the United States. Alpha Xi Delta is proud of its rich history and lasting impact on its members and the Panhellenic community. In fact, Alpha Xi Delta’s first National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) Chairman wrote the Panhellenic Creed, which all members of NPC still recite on college campuses today. Alpha Xi Delta’s Founders left us a great legacy. They taught us the value of education because it frees us to achieve our goals and gives us the power to be whatever we choose. They taught us to support one another through shared experiences and understanding. They taught us to serve others and reach out to better the lives of those less fortunate. Because of them, Alpha Xi Delta continues to inspire countless bold and talented women to realize their potential. Since Alpha Xi Delta’s founding over 119 years ago, we continue to enrich the lives of women throughout the world by emphasizing the ideals our Founders instilled in our Fraternity: sisterhood, leadership, knowledge and service to our communities. We fully embrace these ideals and the opportunity to bring them to college women. Alpha Xi Delta’s Zeta Tau Chapter at UNC Asheville has been home to many women since our founding in 1985.We pride ourselves in assisting collegiate women in realizing their potential through our values of sisterhood, leadership, knowledge and service to others.
