The Lemp Neighborhood Arts Center is a non-profit performance space and art gallery located in the historic Benton Park neighborhood in Saint Louis, Missouri. Our focus is to provide a hospitable environment for high quality non-commercial musicians and artists from within the U.S. and around the world while attempting to create work that engages in the social, intellectual, creative, and emotional growth of the youth in the immediate neighborhood and surrounding city, particularly those who are already engaged in the creative arts. As an all-ages D.I.Y. venue, LNAC is a smoke and alcohol free environment that avoids booking acts of a commercial nature. We also strictly prohibit violent or reckless behavior and discriminatory, lewd, degrading or immoral messages that fail to support the standards of the community or the mission of the venue. The only things offered are art and bottled water. The acoustics are among the best and the intimate setting is ideal for experimental music. We have made a reputation for offering the traveling performers home-cooked meals, lodging, and a high percentage of the cash made at the door. Performers hail from Tokyo, Berlin, Amsterdam, Tel Aviv, Milan, Sweden, Rome, and Beirut (to name only a few). Musical genres include and are not limited to: free improvisation, electro-acoustic, folk, hardcore, punk, post-punk, rock, emo, math rock, noise, grind, and no-wave. We also host poetry and theater. Send booking requests, discussions, and other inquiries to [email protected].
After 2012’s highly successful debut, the Open Highway Music festival, Chevy Music, and Off Broadway are pleased to announce the lineup for the festival’s sophomore year. Each night Off Broadway and the Chevy Music Showcase are bringing national talent(with strong local fan bases) to Off Broadway. Wednesday August 7th brings The Wild Rovers Tour: featuring Cory Chisel, The Candles, Adriel Denae, Space Woman to our fair city. The Candles have had a stellar year and are hot off a successful tour with legendary songstress Norah Jones, and being named Best Breakout set at SXSW by SPIN. They will be touring in support of their new record(La Candelaria), which comes out on July 9th. Thursday August 8th brings Memphis’ Lucero to Off Broadway. Lucero is a perennial favorite of the Americana scene and have worked hard to build their national and international fan base. With Lucero playing Loufest and other outdoor festivals, in recent years, this night will be a rare chance to see them in an intimate club setting. Opening the night will be local heroes Kentucky Knife Fight and Jesse Irwin. On Friday night fans will be treated to both Those Darlins and JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound. Nashville’s Those Darlins have come a long way in the past few years, and have achieved both critical and commercial success. JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound will be making the trek down from Chicago to make a sweltering St. Louis summer even hotter, with their blazing R&B sounds. Closing the festival down will be dark indie-folk stalwarts Murder By Death. Otis Gibbs will be opening the night. Off Broadway and the Open Highway Festival are giving concertgoers the option of either paying $40 for the full three day festival pass(a $10 savings), or buying tickets for individual nights. Other sponsors include: KDHX, New Belgium Brewing, Vintage Vinyl, The Riverfront Times, Tritone Guitars, and Speakers In Code.

Beltshazzar Jewels is an exquisite assortment of handmade jewelry and leather accessories by Theresa Wangia. The organic evolution of Beltshazzar Jewels can be traced back to Theresa’s world travels, multi-cultural heritage, love of nature, and her passionate appreciation of fashion, music and style. Fashioning its designs primarily from natural elements, Beltshazzar Jewels harmoniously creates a unique reflection of the cultural and environmental beauty, not only around, but also, within us. Inspired by native tribes, urban landscapes, and sheer elegance, Theresa combines a love for mixing various elements, textures, and colors, with a deliberate attention to detail. This is what fuels her creative process. Theresa’s great grandfather migrated to the States from Germany to open a cobbler shop and made leather moccasins for the native Indians. He also designed fifteen pairs of Buffalo Bill's infamous leather boots. Theresa’s Grandmother was part Blackfoot Indian so Theresa’s free-spirit designs often have tribal undertones, with urban punctuation. Theresa incorporates a mixture of various elements and mediums to accentuate her designs. Her traditional methods of working with materials are inspired by those used by tribal people from the Amazon, Kenya, and Papua New Guinea. Seeing the intricate, quality craftsmanship of her work, it is no wonder why Theresa was recognized as one of the top three RAW Artists accessory designers in the city of St. Louis. Her one of a kind designs can be found in local boutiques in St. Louis, Chicago, & Los Angeles.
