Artists First (formerly known as Turner Center for the Arts) meets the unique community need of providing an open art program for adults with disabilities. Through Artists First's largest program, the Adult Open Studio, staff and volunteers provide nurturing, structured artistic direction for adults with disabilities, resulting in increased independence for participants. Artists First's culture is one of inclusion, from program development to program implementation. We intentionally target disenfranchised individuals and take steps to ensure participation such as reduced fees and scholarships. All programs are centrally located and take place in accessible buildings. Artists First staff have extensive experience working with individuals with disabilities of all backgrounds. Artists First accepts all participants regardless of age, gender, ability, sexual orientation, religion, race or ethnicity. Artists First maintains an inclusive and accepting environment
Webster House Galleries Located in two charming houses in the arts filled area of Webster Groves/Shrewsbury, a suburb or Saint Louis, Missouri. Featuring local, regional and national artists, crafters and designers. We are always looking for new and interesting works of art to represent.
Norton’s Fine Art & Framing has been owned and operated by the same service-oriented family since 1949. Ruth Norton was an interior decorator, and her husband, Cecil, an architect/engineer with Norton Company Designers. Together they created a business to merge their respective fields. From these roots, Norton’s has evolved into a unique custom, conservation framing, and restoration services studio with two certified picture framers, Doug and Mary Norton. Doug, Mary, and their son, Ty, have endeavored to bring together the finest in artwork, creative, professional framing and caring customer service. Doug Norton, CPF, and Mary Norton, CPF, of Norton's Fine Art & Framing, are charter members of the Professional Picture Framers Association's CERTIFIED PICTURE FRAMER Program. The gallery carries a wide variety of artwork, including original watercolors, paintings, lithographs, etchings, serigraphs, landscapes, historical maritime, sports, and St. Louis art, by regional as well as national and international artists. “As certified picture framers, the gallery owners "package" art as beautifully as they display it. The gallery and frame shop was started in 1949 and remains a fixture in St. Louis more than a half- century later. Today, the second and third generations of Norton's run the gallery, with the purpose of bringing together the finest in artwork and creative framing. Artistic Meanderings is a unique collective of artists displaying and selling their works in various media. We have paintings, glass, greeting cards, mixed media, jewelry, ceramics, fiber and more. We are always seeking new artists and their creations to keep the gallery fresh and exciting so check back often. The proceeds from our "Anna's Art" area will go to various charitable organizations. There is street parking on the side of the building and limited parking on the lot in the back of the building. It is a place where artists & non-artists can collaborate; engage in thought-provoking conversation; attend presentations on professional practices in the visual arts; and so much more. It is also the home of Creative Clarification Coaching, offering one-on-one consultation services to help artists of all disciplines better articulate what they do and why.
This tiny art gallery is a testament to my reclamation of the spaces in my home. The small but dynamic gallery will periodically host receptions and openings, all of which are strictly by invitation only to avoid over-crowding and unsafe conditions.
