Bethel University is an evangelical Christian higher education institution with approximately 6,000 students from 36 countries enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, seminary, and adult education programs. The main campus is located in Arden Hills, Minnesota, a suburb of St. Paul, and the seminary has a second campus in San Diego. The university has a performing arts program, including Benson Great Hall, a concert hall, and The Bethel Choir, the university's 75-voice concert choir which has performed throughout Europe and Scandinavia.Fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission—North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, the university is also a member of the Christian College Consortium. John Alexis Edgren opened a department for Scandinavian theological students in the fall of 1871 in the basement of First Swedish Baptist Church in Chicago starting in 1871. The seminary merged with Bethel Academy in Saint Paul, Minnesota in 1914. In 1931 the Academy became Bethel Junior College. The addition of a four-year liberal arts college program created Bethel College and Seminary in 1947. The school relocated from St. Paul to Arden Hills, Minnesota in 1972. Beginning in 2004, the institution changed its name to Bethel University.
Formerly Arden Village East and Arden Village West, we are now one residence hall of about 340 students. “One” is exactly what we would like to be known for. We desire to be one hall, one community and one group of men and women seeking to grow in our relationship with the One who saves.

Languages and linguistics are about more than the languages spoken or taught. They’re about communicating across cultures in a Christ-like manner. The Department of Modern World Languages prepares graduates to use their language skills to understand, interact with, and serve with people from other cultures. You'll learn to see God’s diverse world from new perspectives, and become a globally aware graduate prepared to culturally engage with communities from a thoughtful, Christian perspective.
O.I.L. was conceived as a means by which Bethel University students are provided with an opportunity and platform to present original ideas, research, and passions with their peers. The purpose of O.I.L. is to foster an open forum for cross-disciplinary academic engagement.
Bethel University volleyball seeks to mark the student-athletes who have been entrusted to us with Gratefulness (Colossians 2:7-8), Selflessness (I Peter 4:10), Toughness (Hebrews 12:11) and Devotion (Romans 12:9). We are a part of the highly competitive Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and have appeared in the MIAC Playoffs seven times since 2001. We have been selected to the NCAA Tournament four times since 1999. We pursue excellence relentlessly on the court and in our relationships.

Community is about more than the act of joining. It's about a sense of belonging. At Bethel, living on campus is convenient. You'll save on gas. You won't have to worry about finding a place to park every day. You'll have a short walk to class. But we also think it's about something more. It's about sporting your residence hall pride at the Homecoming Cheer. It’s about painting the rock in the middle of the night. It’s about living steps away from a lake, a frisbee golf course, and a nature trail. And it’s about hanging with your friends and doing life together.
This conference encourages participants to define “reconciliation” broadly—to include issues of religion, disability, gender, race and ethnicity, sexuality, and class. We will address how Christian sociologists envision the New Testament teachings on reconciliation, and help apply them in the 21st century. In focusing on the theme “The Future of Reconciliation,” we aim to address what are the unique challenges and opportunities facing reconciliation practices in the decades ahead, especially as the United States and the world continue to experience greater demographic diversity.
