The work of the Education Partnership is far reaching, providing outreach services to an estimated 30,000 high school students attending 25 high schools in 8 school districts in San Antonio. One-on-one assistance is provided to an estimated 5,000 high school seniors at the 25 Partnership high schools. The Education Partnership provides professionally designed programs to help San Antonio’s high school students understand, gain access, and accomplish a college degree or certificate. As an advocate for the students, College Access and Success Advisors mentor, guide, and bridge the gap between the at-risk student and the complicated tasks of transitioning from high school, college entrance, financial aid, and college retention. Most recently, the Partnership’s history of success was recognized on February 11, 2010 when the City of San Antonio Council unanimously approved awarding a contract to develop and manage a central college access and opportunity center. Cafécollege is a one-stop clearinghouse of information, resources, and experts offering free guidance students of all ages to prepare for, apply to, enroll in, and complete higher education.
