Encuentros Juveniles is a Youth Movement of the Archdiocese of Miami dedicated to the Evangelization of the youth. Started in 1973, to promote the spiritual welfare of the Hispanic youth, Encuentros now caters to the spirituality of any young Catholic/Christian. We call out to all the young persons in the Archdiocese of Miami from the ages of 16 to 23. When you feel that you have reached a point where you must find Christ or want to deepen your relationship with him, we invite you to our movement. We are called to build the Civilization of Love. "How?" you may ask yourselves, by the evangelization of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We attend weekly formation meetings, monthly service projects, and retreats every few months; all geared at the goal of creating Christian leaders for our workforce, schools, families, parishes, and communities. We are not a youth group, but a YOUTH MOVEMENT.

Those we serve through the St. John Bosco Clinic have different life stories, faces and nationalities. They are the young, old, working poor and unemployed, but they share one very similar need; the need for healthcare and difficulty meeting that need for themselves and their families. We are funded by the generosity of our community partners, grants, and philanthropic individuals, corporations and foundations that recognize the great need in our community and the true difference their support can make.

A 40-year-old nonprofit organization with regional offices in six states, Friends of the Orphans supports the NPH homes and their outreach programs through fundraising and volunteer efforts. Together, we transform the lives of NPH children by creating families for life through values of unconditional love, shared responsibility and education. In other words, we believe that sharing our time and resources with those who need them the most is the least we can do. Every day, Friends of the Orphans supports more than 3,700 children in Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Peru. Since its founding in 1954, NPH has assisted nearly 16,000 children. In 2010, NPH outreach programs assisted over one million children and adults in Haiti alone.

Our mission is to promote philanthropic giving by the LGBT community, to build community through strengthening social, professional, and cultural connections between LGBT people, and to benefit worthy LGBT causes and organizations making a difference in Miami-Dade county. We accomplish our mission through engaging the LGBT community in our social, volunteering, and networking programs.

La misión de este proyecto es unir la comunidad de Miami Dade County al rededor de objetivos comunes enfocados hacia el desarrollo de modelos y programas de inclusión social, acceso a justicia y salud mental. Objetivos: A) Desarrollar un modelo de adquisición y análisis de información estadística que nos permita identificar las necesidades de la mujer Trans Latina. B) Desarrollar un modelo de prevención a la violencia intrafamiliar, de género, sexual y trata de personas. C) Identificar las barreras que enfrentan las mujeres trans latinas a el acceso a servicios de salud mental. D) Identificar los cambios que se deben hacer a los modelos de psicoterapia existentes para que se ajusten a las necesidades, se integren y reconozcan los valores culturales y la cosmovisión de la comunidad de mujeres Trans Latinas. E) Crear programas educativos que le permitan a las mujeres de esta comunidad, desarrollar habilidades laborales con las cuales puedan construir microempresas en el futuro. F) Desarrollar programas de prevención e intervención de enfermedades de transmisión sexual.

We host monthly informative meetings and educational workshops in which we provide in-service hour credits for foster, adoptive and relative caregiver parents. Our meetings are held at 8900 SW 168th Street on the Christ Fellowship Church Palmetto Bay Campus. We host yearly events for our foster and adoptive families and their children. Events include our annual Christmas party, Thanksgiving Potluck, Back to School backpack giveaway and a summer picnic. We welcome all those interested in becoming a foster or adoptive parent. We also encourage anyone who would like to be an advocate or sponsor foster care.
