Detention is the newest addition in what seems to be a revival of Gold Coast nightlife. Division Street is one of Chicago’s most legendary and well-known areas in the heart of the Gold Coast neighborhood. The strip is a place notorious for its crowded streets & wild late night venues catering to anybody and everybody. What the strip hasn’t seen is a venue taking the party bar concept that Division Street is so familiar with, changing it up and adding in the coveted high-end night club experience. Detention is a new concept replacing the old Bar Chicago space at 9 W Division St. and is themed around high school detention. Detention will offer incredible music every night (including resident DJs Skyler Mendoza, Trentino, and Rock City), a beautiful staff dressed in provocative school girl uniforms and private elevated VIP areas with premium bottle service.

After years of searching far and wide for a location to follow up the highly successful Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse, owners Hugo Ralli and Steve Lombardo found what they were looking for right under their noses. In February of 1997 they took the space directly next door and launched what has become the finest seafood restaurant in the city, Hugo's Frog Bar & Fish House. Contrary to popular belief the name is not taken from the signature dish comprised of froggy lower halves. "Frog" was the nickname Hugo Ralli called his Grandfather, General Bruce Hay of Her Majesty's Imperial Forces. His portrait keeps watch over the bar bustling with local nightlife and live blues entertainment. In September of 2004 Hugo's made the leap to downtown Naperville and has brought the same quality, value, and hospitality to that venture as well. It has fast become the favorite restaurant of Naperville residents as well as the surrounding communities.
