It was formerly known as the Bank of America Tower and Columbia Seafirst Center. This Seattle landmark is the tallest building in Washington State and the Pacific Northwest region. Reaching heights of 284.2 m (932 ft) it is nearly twice the size of the Space Needle, and at one point it was the tallest skyscraper west of the Mississippi River! It is currently the fourth tallest building west of the Mississippi, the second tallest building on the West Coast, and the twentieth tallest building in the United States. Caffè Umbria is a coffee roaster and coffeehouse chain based in Seattle.HistoryIn 1948 Ornello Bizzarri began a coffee roasting business in Perugia. In 1986 his son Umberto brought the tradition and family business to Seattle, starting the company Torrefazione Italia. In 2003 Starbucks purchased Torrefazione Italia and Seattle's Best Coffee. Upon hearing that the family chain would close, Emanuele Bizzarri, son of Umberto, set about founding Caffè Umbria in 2002.The flagship store is located where Torrefazione's flagship stood when it existed.
The Panama Hotel in Seattle, Washington's International District was built in 1910. The hotel was built by the first Japanese-American architect in Seattle, Sabro Ozasa, and contains the last remaining Japanese bathhouse community was established to keep races segregated, but it allowed cultural bonds to be formed. Japanese immigrants from all the regions of Japan came to Seattle and became interconnected because of the Nihonmachi. Even though the Japanese people of Japantown faced poverty due to economic hardships, skilled workers in all different industries came together because of the immigration from different prefectures in Japan.
