Broadway Bodies is a high-impact, dance cardio workout to your favorite Show Tunes & Movie Musicals. Incorporating basic and challenging dance movements (choreography) with high impact aerobics, Broadway Bodies is a fun and exciting cardio class that encourages you to sing a long while you sweat. The first 30 minutes feature a cardio build-up set to an exciting medley of show tunes from popular musicals (repeated each class). We follow this with a unique custom combination created by our choreographer and derived from a Broadway or Hollywood musical. The classes are 55 minutes long, and each class features a brand new combination. All levels of dancers welcome! Broadway Bodies Los Angeles is owned and taught by Joseph Corella. Although many titles can be used to describe Joseph, at his core he is a teacher. Using his dance and theater background, Joseph teaches dancers and non-dancers alike to express themselves through movement. His teaching has brought him around the globe to such places as Japan, France, England, Canada, and dozens of cities across the United States. Joseph’s connection to movement started in his early childhood with extensive dance training. At fifteen, he joined Marguerite Derricks’s prestigious teen company and shortly thereafter appeared in Disney’s Geppetto alongside pop superstar Usher. Additionally, he was named American Dance Awards’ Teen Male Dancer of the Year. Joseph’s success in the dance world led to a music career in the Latin pop trio, Tropic Zone. Subsequently, he appeared on Broadway in All Shook Up, and toured the US with productions of Grease! and West Side Story. Joseph then shifted focus, as his desire to be in front of large audiences transformed to a need to be in front of students. He began choreographing and teaching. Joseph’s choreography has been seen on the MTV Video Music Awards, the Lifetime reality hit “Dance Moms,” and in production numbers for YouTube sensation Shane Dawson. Recently, he choreographed the hit musical parody Prairie-Oke (A.K.A. Almond Grove) and Julie Brown’s new musical “Homecoming Queen’s Got a Musical." Joseph's main goal at Broadway Bodies Los Angeles is to help bring fitness and health into people’s lives through the joy of dancing.
