Pals Around the World books are designed to meet the educational and literacy needs of the US school system as well as schools around the world. They are also used for individual usage too. Each book is designed with the help of educators and historians for creating more picture books in electronic format to save trees and to continue to expland our work. Each Pals book is based on a different country and each Pals book shares the same balance of information told through the eyes of a young boy or girl particular customs, cultures, site-seeing recipes followed by an interactive map and flash cards to learn the spoken language. Our books are developed and tested with the help of country specific subject matter experts, educators (teachers and librarians) and parents before each release - and therefore require a vigorous testing and refinement process. The books help children truly know unique facts and information about a particular country in a entertaining way that provides them with a new found confidence of knowing about a particular culture (country) before they connect internationally to their very own pen-pal or explore a particular country in their own backyard. We are a small grassroots charity - BIG in heart.. as our project and books and Pals Ambassador visits are run completely on a volunteer basis. Everyone works full-time yet donates their time to make it happen and to together - make this world a better place for our children and for future generations. Hardcopy Pals books are donated throughout the year at US public schools and are offered at a 50% discount to private schools. Books are also donated to other 501c3 charities that work helping children and the environment. About the Pals Program: The Pals program and books includes guest Pals Ambassadors who come to inspire children by sharing their own professional careers and unique personal cultural background and travel experiences. Each Pals Ambassador is a star in their own way and demonstrate 'by example" how they love what they do professionally and how they too "give back" to help the earth and children around the world with their time helping PALS AROUND THE WORLD. Through their visits and book readings/signings Pals Ambassadors help children learn about different cultures through their own unique experiences. They also quiz children on trivia questions in our books and demonstrate that people can do more than one talent well (as many are mult-talented). They end their visits with autographs in our Pals books and a big "Pals Around the World" group hug. Pals school coordinator volunteers help out by overseeing the delivery of the Pals program in the public elementary schools (and some private schools) ranging from 3rd grade level all the way up to 6th grade level. The Pals program and books are delivered within a 1 hour structured format with coordinators guiding and prepping our Pals Ambassadors throughout the hour long visit. After our visit - teachers choose various sections of Pals books to read before connecting their classroom to their very own international pen-pal by sponsoring a CI child together and/or utilizing the educationally recommended pen-pal resources.
