The Outdoor Program, supported by ASCI (student government), is an outdoor recreation and educational program offering classes, workshops, trips and outdoor equipment rentals for student recreational use. Our student led trips are designed for everyone who has an interest in the outdoors, not just the weathered wilderness explorer. Previous experience is not required! On each trip there are one or more student leaders present who are trained and experienced in the activities, safety, and first aid. Some of our activities are more challenging than others and will have pre-trip meetings and instruction, but anyone who is willing to try is encouraged to participate. Each trip is planned and organized to help ensure that everyone enjoys each trip as much as possible. The educational component of the Outdoor Program is comprised of workshops and classes. Check out all the scheduled events on the trip calendar page for times and dates. We want your suggestions to further develop our calendar and offerings, so please let us know your interests. We also have equipment for rent through the OP rental shop so that everyone at the CofI may enjoy the outdoors on their own.

Senior Legacy 2015
Distance: 0.0 mi Competitive Analysis
2112 Cleveland Blvd
Caldwell, ID 83605

What is Senior Legacy? *Every year, the senior class joins in thanking the college and what it has given us all (great professors, scholarships, fun events, a second home, etc.) by giving back to the Boone Fund or specific department on campus. For many years, the senior classes have nearly reached 100% giving, but we are aiming this year as the Class of 2015 to be the FIRST CLASS EVER to get 100% of seniors to give back. A gift of ANY size from each of us will bring us to complete that goal!! The Senior Legacy Committee (Rachel Anderson, Chelsea Frisbee, Jessica Hansen, Chris Li, Madai Montes, Gary Parkinson, Miguel Robles Tapia, Natalie Sousa, Sarah Tobiasz, Cynthia Tang, and Dannen Wright) has been and will continue to hold events throughout the year to celebrate our senior year and to encourage student philanthropy and giving back to dear old C of I. Seniors can give at any event with cash, check, or card, as well as by giving cash or check to a committee member or Annie Morrison (3rd floor Sterry), or by going online to: http://www.collegeofidaho.edu/development/give-now

William Judson Boone Hall
Distance: 0.1 mi Competitive Analysis
2112 Cleveland Blvd
Caldwell, ID 83605

In short terms, all the math, science, and physics majors live in this building and are deemed "Boonies." The historic appearance of the original building is unchanged. The original design departed from the traditional red brick used in the majority of present campus buildings, although the contrast was not so evident at the time of the building's construction. The major change of the last few years, the (PC) computer revolution, has been accomplished by redesigning a number of laboratories for conversion to computer labs. The building comprises 79,200 square feet on three levels. The building was named for the founder and first president of the college, Dr. William Judson Boone (1860-1936), an ordained Presbyterian minister. We may infer from the historic record that while Dr. Boone was a dedicated minister, he was also a passionate botanist. His specialty was mycology, and he discovered a number of examples of puffball fungi. Dr. Boone's attitudes defined the liberal arts at the college, and the building was dedicated to this abiding spirit. In 1991, when the college changed its name to Albertson College of Idaho, a bronze statue of Dr. Boone (heroic proportions) was installed near the main entry of the building that bears his name.
