Two California Plaza is a 750ft skyscraper in the Bunker Hill District district of downtown Los Angeles, California. The tower is part of the California Plaza project, consisting of two unique skyscrapers, One California Plaza and Two California Plaza. The Plaza is also home to the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA), Colburn School of Performing Arts, the Los Angeles Omni Hotel, and a 1.5acre water court.HistoryCompleted in 1992 by Hathaway Dinwiddie Construction Company, Two California Plaza has 1329000ft2 of office space. The towers were designed by Arthur Erickson Architects and named BOMA Building of the Year in 1997 and 2001.California Plaza was a ten-year, 1.2 billion project. Started in 1983, the Two California Plaza tower was completed in 1992 during a significant slump in the downtown Los Angeles real estate market. The tower opened with only 30 percent of its space leased and overall vacancy rates in downtown office space neared 25 percent. It was nearly 10 years before significant tall buildings were completed again in the downtown Los Angeles.The California Plaza was originally planned to include 3 high rise tower office buildings instead of the two completed. Three California Plaza at 65 floors, was planned for a site just north of 4th St., directly across Olive St. from California Plaza's first two office highrises and was planned to house the Metropolitan Water District's permanent headquarters. The site is currently an entrance to the Pershing Square subway station.

We work to prepare and the place the poor in Haiti into jobs so that they can pull themselves out of poverty forever. The rich tapestry of Los Angeles began with a single thread: on September 4, 1781, the little band of settlers founded their new town - El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora de Los Angeles - with a Mass and procession in honor of Our Lady of the Angels, to whom they dedicated the infant town. From time to time since then, Angelenos have sought the aid and protection of the Mother of God for what has become one of the greatest --- and yet, most challenged --- cities on the planet. In the face of the economic, social, and spiritual threats faced today not only by Los Angeles by the State, Nation, and World, the members of the Foundation of Our Lady of the Angels seek to gather all --- Catholic and non-Catholic alike --- who wish once more to entreat the aid and blessing of Our Lady of the Angels upon our Archdiocese, City and County. We look forward to doing this in three ways: 1 Sponsoring an annual Mass preceded by a Procession in honor of Our Lady of the Angels at a prominent church in the Los Angeles Archdiocese, followed by a Feast to celebrate the birthday of our Archdiocese and City in her name; 2 Maintenance of a website (www.thequeenofangels.com) dedicated to educating Catholics and non-Catholics alike about Church teaching on devotion to Our Lady and the Angels, the Kingship of Christ, and related matters; and 3 Personal devotion of the members of the Foundation and the participants in the Mass, Procession and Feast to Our Lady of the Angels, who through their prayers and good works will seek to engender reverence for the Blessed Virgin, bring the community together, and invoke the blessings of God upon the religious and civic leaders of our multicultural community and all of the inhabitants of the greater Los Angeles area, Catholic and non-Catholic alike.

EAA represents approximately 5,000 City employees who are employed in every City department and Bureau and work at almost every one of the City’s 1,200 locations. Our members are involved in every aspect of service to the citizens of this great city. EAA hires only the most-qualified and dedicated individuals for its professional staff. This provides the maximum benefit for members and engenders respect from their counterparts at the City. EAA utilizes the same care in its selection of outside assistance, employing the finest labor legal counsel in southern California and using only union shops for its printing and consulting needs. The level of salary, benefits, and job protection currently enjoyed by City employees is a direct result of EAA's bargaining for those salaries and benefits. EAA has returned from the bargaining table with respectable wages, quality medical and retirement benefits, and excellent protection of its members' jobs. In recent years, EAA has stepped to the forefront in demanding fair treatment for all and in addressing the disparity in wages and benefits between the DWP and other City departments. In recent years, EAA has renewed its dedication to the larger labor community. EAA actively joins with its fellow unions in the Los Angeles-Long Beach Harbor Coalition, the Jewish Labor Committee, the Harry Bridges Institute, and the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor. EAA members hit a high-water mark in 2006. For the first time in their history, they emphatically rejected a contract offer from City management. Their subsequent job actions garnered great respect in the labor community of southern California and produced a landmark contract agreement well in advance of the normal time frame for agreement. As a result of the members' demonstrated strength, a new era of cooperation is taking form between EAA and management through the mechanism of "mutual-gains bargaining". The cooperation was most recently demonstrated in the 2010 MOU's in which both parties recognized that sustainability for the future is beneficial to all. Additionally, all bargaining units are now covered by Fair Share (Agency Shop) provisions ensuring that the costs of representation are fairly shared by all. We are confident that the best is still to come.
