Theta Chi was founded as the Theta Chi Society on April 10, 1856, at Norwich University, by two military cadets: Frederick Norton Freeman and Arthur Chase. Freeman and Chase met in Freeman’s room of the University’s Old South Barracks, and after taking oaths and declaring each other “true and accepted members” of the Society, Chase was elected President and Freeman was elected Secretary. The next evening, Freeman and Chase initiated two more cadets: Edward Bancroft Williston and Lorenzo Potter. Although Theta Chi is regarded as Norwich’s first fraternity, it is believed that Freeman and Chase may also have been members of a secret society called The Regulators prior to founding Theta Chi. However, whether there was any connection between the Regulators and Theta Chi is still open for debate today. If our Founders could see us today, they would surely be proud of what they saw. Over 160,000 men have been initiated into the Fraternity since its founding. On April 9, 2011, Theta Chi installed its 220th chapter, Iota Xi at Georgia College and State University, and began the second half of the Iota series of chapters.
Goucher College's Department of Music offers a major and minor in music, as well as numerous ensembles for both majors and non-majors. Student ensembles include Chorus, Orchestra, African Drum and Dance, Chamber Music, Jazz, Opera, and Musical Theater. Faculty performances and guest artists also appear at Goucher every semester.

The Goucher College Republicans is a school sponsored club. The club was voted in to become the 10th chapter of the Maryland Federation of College Republicans which is part of the College Republican National Committee. We seek to promote conservative ideologies within the Goucher campus as well as surrounding communities. Club activities include holding fundraisers for charities, club trips, debates, hosting speakers, and volunteering for political campaigns. The Counseling Center offers a variety of group experiences that provide opportunities to identify with others who have similar concerns; to increase self-awareness and self-acceptance; and to improve the quality of your life, work, and personal relationships. All groups are free and open to undergraduate and graduate students. Most groups meet weekly, usually for a total of 8-10 weeks during a semester.
The philosophy behind the training of Tiger athletes is a basic one, developed and shared over many years of coaching application and evaluation, with simple principles. Each athlete will establish specific goals & objectives for themselves. A commitment to "training" as a high level or elite competitor will adhere to, and the overall program is defined by... Goals & Objectives Long Term = Explosive Power * Functional Strength * Directional Speed * Transitional Agility Short Term = Speed Endurance * Work Capacity * Recoverability * Stamina Fulfilling the program goals & objectives is a product of the systematic, sequential and progressive use of the training methods emphasized within the program. Training methods include weight training, plyometrics, sprint resistance, sprint assistance, movement specifics and speed endurance. PLANNED PERFORMANCE TRAINING "Planning the Work" makes "Working the Plan" a more manageable and precise process. With a well thought out plan based on clear and well defined goals & objectives for distinct periods of time, the working parts of the plan (sets, reps, intensity, exercises, sessions, weeks etc.) are more easily implemented and when need be, modified. Each athlete is brought through a series of training periods that go throughout the year and change with each phase of the season. Training periods also coincide with the academic calendar and breaks of each term. This "Periodization" of training allows for optimal dosages and intensities of training to be planned for each individual while offering adequate amounts of rest, recuperation, training variety and proper workloads.

The Clinical Psychology concentration of the Master of Arts in Psychology at Towson University provides hands-on training and firsthand experience in assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and applied research. The program is ideally suited to meet the needs of individuals who want to: (1) Learn about evidence-based practices in psychology (EBPP); (2) Work as master's level psychometricians, behavioral specialists, or licensed; (3) clinical professional counselors; (4) Pursue further graduate study in clinical psychology; and/or (5) Serve as research interviewers/clinicians/project managers on applied research studies
