San Antonio Clubhouse is a nonprofit organization that serves individuals diagnosed with mental illness. The Clubhouse's innovative approach to mental health recovery focuses on strengths rather than perceived weaknesses; "what is right" with someone rather than "what is wrong" with someone. In this kind and compassionate environment, Clubhouse members are encouraged to fully and actively participate in their own lives and the Clubhouse governance through meaningful Clubhouse work. In addition, developing positive, collegial relationships through collaborative dialogue in lieu of established hierarchies promotes a milieu founded on dignity and respect. Utilizing an evidence-based, recovery-oriented, holistic approach to mental health, the Clubhouse offers an in-house wellness center, a garden-to-table program, and a three-pronged approach to securing employment in the community. The Clubhouse environment is ideal for furthering the recovery efforts of individuals diagnosed with mental illness.
WELCOME TO MARRIAGE 101! On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your marriage? You may have a powerfully dynamic marriage or be on the brink of separation or divorce – maybe you are somewhere in the middle. Regardless of the state of your relationship, MARRIAGE 101 is here to help you get and stay strong. If your marriage is very good right now, it could be better and you could be an inspiration to the students attending! That’s how Starr & Bob got into this marriage ministry 26 years ago! You can read more about that on their bio page. Please take your time going through the pages in our site. We offer you hope for a better future with your spouse through our video & audio podcasts on a wide variety of marital topics. MARRIAGE 101 is all about education. We aren’t taught how to be married successfully. We aren’t taught that a good marriage takes sacrifice, hard work and constant yielding to the other person. We aren’t taught how to blend together two completely different people with two different backgrounds, imprints and lifestyles. We really don’t give it much thought because the air is so filled with hearts and butterflies and romance. But after the dust is settled, the honeymoon is over and we get down to making two into one, life can become abrasive and difficult and many couples simply give up because they refuse to venture out of their comfort zone. They believe they have made a big mistake and head for the divorce courts. Starr & Bob offer free marriage counseling to those who attend their free weekly marriage classes. The classes go hand in hand with the counseling. Both are necessary. To get more information about these free classes, visit our site www.marriage101.net We hope we can be a blessing to you on our site and we welcome your comments and suggestions. The San Antonio Restaurant Association is a chapter of the Texas Restaurant Association. We come together for meetings, events, networking and to address local issues, form consensus, and support candidates favorable to San Antonio’s hospitality industry
South San AFT is the key to promoting the interests of educational employees. Local school boards hire and fire, promulgate work rules, decide local pay raises, and implement initiatives that help or hurt employees on campuses. We as South San AFT members have the greatest power over school boards if we are organized to make our voices heard at the board level and at the ballot box during school-board elections. We believe that local educational employees should have the right to negotiate a written contract with the local school board. Texas is one of only a handful of states that deny collective bargaining to public employees. Until we can change this discriminatory law, we strive at the local level to enter into “elected consultation” arrangements with local school boards to achieve what is possible now to protect and promote the interests of educational employees. In 1989, South San AFT won consultation elections that allow us to serve as the single, strong voice for educational employees in local policy-making. South San AFT is proud that, when educational employees have the right to vote freely on which educational employee organization they want to represent them, AFT regularly wins.
The funds which support the Foundation’s mission are raised primarily through direct donations and two annual fundraising events during the year: a Valentine's Day Gala and a Spring Golf Tournament.
