Independence Center is committed to providing a comprehensive system of high quality programs and services that assists adults in the St. Louis metropolitan area with serious and persistent mental illnesses to live and work in the community, independently and with dignity. To accomplish its mission, the Center promotes rehabilitation and employment, provides educational, social and housing opportunities and offers training in its approach to community based care.
Places for People provides an unparalleled toolkit of programs, services, and resources for people who have serious mental illnesses, typically accompanied by complex and multilayered challenges: chronic homelessness, substance abuse disorder, primary health disorders, and trauma. Our new mission statement, adopted in March 2013, reflects our commitment to serve the most vulnerable people in our community: “Provide caring, effective services to help those with the greatest challenges recover from mental illness and associated chronic illnesses.”
I am a Registered Yoga Teacher and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My holistic approach brings the mind and body together for overall wellness. I offer both group as well as one on one Yoga Instruction in an intimidation free environment.
