Flamenco Latino has moved its administrative offices to Jackson Heights. The Acting Studio - New York is a private acting conservatory/studio of distinction specializing in the Sanford Meisner Technique located in the heart of the theater district of New York City. The studio was created by its director James Price who has been training actors for over 30 years. Business of Sports School opened its doors in September 2009 to 108 9th grade students with the support of BOSS’s partner organizations, New Visions for Public Schools and F·E·G·S Health and Human Guidance Services System. BOSS is a proud member of the innovative New Visions Partnership Support Organization (PSO) Network and is based on an authentic learning instructional model and highly personalized small school structure.The original concept of BOSS was inspired by the Mayoral Task Force on Career & Technical Education (CTE), which called for new, creative ways to prepare students for the careers of 21st Century. A team of teachers, administrators, sports industry professionals, and representatives from New Visions, ESPN The Magazine, and F·E·G·S designed and proposed the BOSS concept during Fall 2008 and the official announcement by the New York City Department of Education in February 2009 was covered by media and sports blogs around the country. BOSS is a limited unscreened public high school. Students who attend information sessions receive admissions priority, and students are admitted on a lottery basis without regard to background or academic record. Within two months of its official announcement, BOSS received more than 300 applications for the initial 9th grade class (Class of 2013). BOSS received almost 1,500 applications for its second and third 9th grade classes (Class of 2014 and 2015).

The Urban Assembly School for Emergency Management (UASEM) is a Career and Technical Education high school that prepares students to engage in complex quantitative and qualitative reasoning skills with an understanding of the principles of Emergency Management. UASEM graduates will be equipped with the skills necessary for entry into the Emergency Management field and for a college of their choice. Our students will engage with internships, collaborative simulations, student-led community training, and strong industry partnerships. In 1956 commercial director Bob Barron met radio actor and announcer Dwight Weist. TV was a new invention and commercials were just in their infancy. It seems incredible now, but at the time it was almost impossible to find good actors willing to perform in the unfamiliar industry of On-Camera Commercials. Bob and Dwight were inspired with the idea of teaching newcomers to read copy and feel comfortable in front of the camera. They created a step-by-step technique, teaching new actors the fundamentals of Commercial Speech, On-Camera Performance, and most importantly, how to project their individual personality. The course was an immediate success and the school grew to become one of the most respected in all areas of on-camera training. Now a half-century later Weist-Barron is proud to have launched the careers of scores of actors who are working successfully in film, television, theatre and of course, commercials. WB is currently under the direction of Casting Director Valerie Adami, who was lucky to be trained by Bob and Dwight. She is honored to continue the tradition they created, and to serve the acting community, giving new talent the chance to enrich their dreams.
