Michaels Diner formerly known as Lums Diner has been in existence for over 30 years at this same location. It was sold to Michael in 1996. This diner has become the pillar and home away from home kitchen to the community, including the surrounding churches. Many of it's present customers have been dining here from the inception and still do til this day. For the past twelve years the diner has suffered many folds of mismanagement and together with the recession that began in 2008, the diner began a drastic downturn economically. Despite all of this, the loyalty of many of these long term customers , gave Michaels Diner a bit of financial faith through their continuous support. Earlier this year, I was given the task of reviving the diner to bring it back to life not only for business sake, but FOR THE LONG STANDING CUSTOMERS & THE COMMUNITY WHO SO WISHED FOR IT'S CONTINUED EXISTENCE . I am very proud to finally see a ray of hope after 5 months into my attempt. Also, thanks to my manager, who has been in the business for 21years, and an almost completely new & competent friendly staff , I can safely say that Michaels Diner WILL be there for another 30 years and THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE STOOD STRONG WITH THE ESTABLISHMENT OVER THE YEARS..

If you grew up in Miami, odds are you either had your class photos taken by one of Nick’s photographers or even Nick himself. This is because Nick’s Photo Studio has been a staple in the communities of Dade and Broward Counties for over 25 years. Before Nick’s Photo Studio was in existence, Nick was a restaurant manager at Denny’s. It’s funny how life takes its unexpected turns and we end up in better circumstances than we had planned. Nick began to look for other career opportunities and decided to enroll in Miami Dade College to become a telephone technician. During the enrollment process, Nick noticed a bulletin board that stated that photography courses were being offered. Nick had always wanted to work for himself so he thought, “Now this is something I can do.” After attending Miami Dade College for photography, Nick also attended Lindsey Hopkins. Several years later in 1985, Nick started the company “Nick’s Photo Studio,” and two months later the doors were open. Since then, the business has moved to several different locations in Miami and has opened a second location in Broward County. They have 15 employees with 5 departments including Production, Photography, Customer Service, a Lab and Marketing. Nick’s Photo Studio is proud to be one of the only certified minority businesses as a photography studio in Miami-Dade County. They are also members of the Professional School Photographers Association (PSPA), as well as the Professional Photographers Association (PPA). They have also received numerous awards and recognitions for their involvement in the community.
