The St. Louis Animal Blood Bank began operations in September of 1998, a cooperative venture between Associated Veterinary Specialists and the Animal Emergency Clinic, as a community-based blood bank for dogs. Our goal is to provide better services for all pets by having an easily accessible source of blood products for the treatment of illnesses and life threatening emergencies.
