To all who come to this happy place: Welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America, with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world. —Walter E. The Disneyland Resort, commonly known as Disneyland, is an entertainment resort in Anaheim, California. It is owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company through its Parks and Resorts division and is home to two theme parks (Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure), three hotels, and a shopping, dining, and entertainment complex known as Downtown Disney. The resort was developed by Walt Disney in the 1950s. When it opened to guests on July 17, 1955, the property consisted of Disneyland, its 100-acre parking lot (which had 15,167 spaces), and the Disneyland Hotel, owned and operated by Disney's business partner Jack Wrather. After succeeding with the multi-park, multi-hotel business model at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, Disney acquired large parcels of land adjacent to Disneyland to apply the same business model in Anaheim.During the expansion, the property was named the Disneyland Resort to encompass the entire complex, while the original theme park was named Disneyland Park. The company purchased the Disneyland Hotel from the Wrather Company and the Pan Pacific Hotel from the Tokyu Group. The Pan Pacific Hotel later became Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel. The property saw the addition of Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, a second theme park, named Disney California Adventure, and the Downtown Disney shopping, dining, and entertainment area.

The Hyperion Theater is located at Disney California Adventure in Hollywood Land. It is currently presenting Frozen – Live at the Hyperion. The theater can seat up to 1,984 people. The facade is modeled after that of the Los Angeles Theatre on LA's Broadway.HistoryThe Hyperion Theater opened with the park on February 8, 2001. Originally, Disney anticipated holding large-scale events and awards shows at this theater. However, a cost-cutting decision during construction to strip the theater of a lobby or bathrooms within the theater prevented this from taking place. Guests must leave the theater and walk to an adjoining rest room. The venue's first show was Disney's Steps in Time, a musical featuring songs from various Disney films. Later that year, The Power of Blast, a scaled-down version of the musical Blast! was created for the theater. The Power of Blast closed in fall 2002 to make room for Disney's Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular. Inspired by Disney's 1992 animated film Aladdin, the show premiered in January 2003.In spring 2010 it was initially announced that Disney's Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular would close and be replaced by Toy Story: The Musical. However, later that year it announced that the plans were cancelled and that the Aladdin musical would remain for the time being.

ENCOUNTERS: UFO Experience, presented by Intergalactic Brands, features more than 200 original and reproduction artifacts, conceptual models, and documented film clips and recordings that support claims of ancient encounters through modern day sightings. The exhibition features seven galleries that showcase ancient alien encounters, the military's role in modern sightings, and pop culture's fascination with extraterrestrial life. Interactive aspects of the exhibition enable visitors to personally experience an alien abduction that is based on observations and reports from alien abductees. This family-friendly exhibition will be located on the Northeastern side of Broadway at the Beach in a building distinguished by a flying saucer bursting from its side. Days of operation in April and May will be limited to Thursday through Sunday. Summer hours will be announced at a later date. For more information, go to www.ufoexhibition.com.
