Shalom Family offers the biggest events for families with children 12 and under in the Greater Cincinnati Jewish community at a wide variety of the most popular kid-friendly venues in town…and they’re always FREE. Events take place throughout the year and include programs such as Superhero Hanukkah, Hamentaschen Hip Hop, Sweet Treat Family Fun Factory, Galaxy a Glow Go and many more. In addition, Shalom Baby, a program of Shalom Family, offers interactive playgroups twice a month for families with children 2 years and younger. Great American Ball Park is a baseball stadium located in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is the home field of the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball. It opened in 2003, replacing Cinergy Field, which had been their home field from June 1970 to 2002. Despite the patriotic tone of the name, the park's name comes from the Great American Insurance Group, which purchased the park's naming rights through 2033. Carl Lindner, Jr., the late chairman of Great American Insurance Group's parent company, American Financial Group, was the majority owner of the Cincinnati Reds from 1999 to 2005. On January 21, 2013, the park was chosen to host the 2015 Major League Baseball All-Star Game. The park invested $4.5 million in improvements for the 2015 season and the event. The improvements include two new bars and upgraded concession stands.
Riverfront Stadium, also known as Cinergy Field from 1996 to 2002, was a multi-purpose stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States that was the home of the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball from 1970 through 2002 and the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League from 1970 to 1999. Located on the Ohio River in downtown Cincinnati, the stadium was best known as the home of "The Big Red Machine", as the Reds were often called in the 1970s.Construction began on February 1, 1968, and was completed at a cost of less than $50 million. On June 30, 1970, the Reds hosted the Atlanta Braves in their grand opening, with Hank Aaron hitting the first ever home run at Riverfront. Two weeks later on July 14, 1970, Riverfront hosted the 1970 Major League Baseball All-Star Game. This game is best remembered for the often-replayed collision at home plate between Reds star Pete Rose and catcher Ray Fosse of the Cleveland Indians.
