Fairbanks Hearing & Balance Center ENT & AuD TeamWe are committed to improving our patients’ quality of life through exceptional hearing and balance care. We strive to be leaders in our field through: ◾Evidence-based testing, diagnosis, and treatments ◾Physician collaboration ◾Advanced hearing aid technology dispensing ◾Patient education & counseling The Truth About Testing for Hearing Loss Not all hearing testing is the same. Hearing aid retailers most often are staffed by dispensers that legally are prohibited from billing commercial and government insurance providers for comprehensive hearing evaluations. As such, many retailers provide a simple yet limited hearing screening – free of charge. At Fairbanks Hearing & Balance Center we only conduct a thorough and comprehensive evaluation of your hearing system to ensure accurate diagnosis. You can be rest assured, you get the test results and treatment you deserve, based on a complete hearing evaluation in collaboration with your Doctor of Audiology and your attending physician. Why choose a Doctor of Audiology vs. a Hearing Aid Dispenser? A Doctor of Audiology and a Hearing Aid Dispenser both are licensed to test for hearing loss and to select and fit hearing aids. Doctors of Audiology, however, are schooled and earn doctoral degrees in the sciences of understanding the human ear intimately. In general, your Audiologist will perform more thorough testing to accurately identify other associative pathologies to hearing loss. Physicians collaborate primarily with Doctors of Audiology for comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss, tinnitus, and balance disorders. What is an Audiologist? au-di-ol-o-gist (noun): The health-care professional who specializes in evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and managing hearing loss and balance disorders in adults and children. Today audiologists are required to complete a 4-year doctoral program, including various clinical placements and research involvement.

Despite being a critical part of emergency care, insurance carriers rarely cover the entire cost of transportation. When they don’t, you are the one that’s responsible. That all changes when you get a membership plan from Apollo MT. Apollo gives you the protection and peace of mind that you need for you and your family, and is active 3 days after you sign up.
