Welcome to Under the Mtn. Martial Arts. It is owned and all classes are taught by Sensei Nick Yamashita, who is a 3rd Degree Black Belt in American Kenpo Karate, 1st Dan in Taekwondo, Red Belt in Tang Soo Do Karate and has trainings in Brazilian Jiujitsu, Muay Thai and multiple styles of training for martial arts. Sensei Yamashita competed years ago in Amateur and Professional MMA as well as competing in multiple Karate tournaments. The main philoshophy of teaching martial arts by Sensei Yamashita is to make martial arts available to all willing students regardless of race, social class and disability. He has decided to teach martial arts which helped save him as a young boy from a troubled life to others to help bring back morales, values, respect and service to others. He makes the classes really affordable so those who usually could not afford such instructional fees can participate in such beneficial educational classes. All classes are taught at the University of Reno- Cooperative Extension Classroom B at 1897 Moapa Valley Blvd. in Logandale, NV. The Martial Arts classes are every Tuesday and Friday @ 5 pm - 6:30 pm and open to ages 8+. AVOID Women's Self-Defense classes are every Friday @ 7 pm. Please feel free to come and join!
