Earthsong imports directly and also buys domestically in bulk, hence procuring it's products at below regular wholesale prices, which in turn enables us to sell to the public at Wholesale prices. To be very frank, most wholesalers and retailers mark their goods up by many times, but we decided years ago to not take advantage of the public or our customers, but instead spread the goodwill and love around to them by selling gorgeous, beautiful items at Wholesale Price.. Come visit us Daily--in Petaluma Daily from 10:30am till 6:00pm, however Sunday we are open from 11:00am to 6:00 pm. Ph: (707) 781-0654. In San Francisco we are open 7 days a week from 11:00am til 7 pm Ph: (415) 751-0127. HISTORY of EARTHSONG: Earthsong began as an import-wholesale-buying agency business in 1975, founded by Bruce Becker. Bruce moved to India in 1975 where he established a buying and designing agency in the fashion and giftware industry, where he had many of the largest and best US department stores, and import-wholesalers from Europe, North America and Australia, as his clients. In India, Bruce worked for 10 years with hundreds of Indian manufacturers, and also travelled extensively throughout Asia, doing business in China, Thailand, South Korea and Indonesia. While living, working and travelling in Asia, Bruce also volunteered and was involved in many social work, village development, environmental and education projects, particularly in the pristine Himalayan mountain region of India. Bruce worked with various grassroots local organizations to help improve the living and financial situation of poor villagers whose suffering is beyond the imagination of us very fortunate ones living in the developed world. Bruce has also been involved with many local, Asian several environmental water and resource restoration and reforestation projects. Bruce personally organized and established 2 Himalyan village schools in 1985 for children who never had a single day of education in their lives. And these schools are still running today. Hence, with Bruce's involvement in manufacturing beautiful unique fashions and gift items, along with being involved with the uplift of poor people who are much less fortunate than us, the name EARTHSONG came into being for Bruce's business. A celebration and singing--a reflection of the beauty and joy of the planet earth we are living in, and also the human spirit----the song of the earth....Earthsong. EARTHSONG has two stores, located in San Francisco in the Haight-Asbury district, and also in downtown Petaluma. We sell a wide variety of about 350 exciting, exotic-flavored products, eco-friendly and fair-trade and styles. We sell all-natural organic bath and body products, natural soy and herbal candles, natural perfumes, essential oils and soaps. Since we import a lot of the products ourself, we know the overseas factories we work with, Bruce having visited many of them--and they all pay very good wages, no child labor and no sweat-shops for their workers. Hence, about 85% of our merchandise is known and verified to be fair trade. Our salespeople at both stores always provide superb, friendly and helpful advise and connection with our customers, and these salespeople receive top accolades from our customers as being exceptionally friendly, personable and helpful. We love creating an atmosphere in our stores that reflects our name of Earthsong. The Earthsong logo has the earth and nature, with birds, fairies, butterflies, a lake, mountains, and the word Earthsong is enveloped in a type of ancient scroll, like an ancient song. We hope you enjoy our store, our products, and the unique shopping experience of our stores.
