The Point Breeze neighborhood in South Philadelphia is lacking in both education in the arts and exposure to art exhibitions. Our solution to that problem is The Kind Institute. The Kind Institute is a non-profit studio and gallery space for youth and adult education inspired by visual arts, music, and language. At the start of this new year The Kind Institute will be offering after school programs to young children at our brand new space in the heart of Point Breeze. Our program is managed by experienced teachers who hold master's degrees in education, teaching assistants working towards their master's, and a dean of students. Our teachers, members, and volunteers share the same views in pedagogy and strive to provide a multicultural and interdisciplinary educational experience through the arts. Children and adults in Point Breeze will learn kindness together through The Kind Program. We will teach inventive thinking, kindness, and ambition during our daytime youth programs and evening adult classes. The Kind Institute Gallery will represent local artists who have shown works internationally. Our gallery space provides a venue for artists in Point Breeze to reach out to local and visiting audiences. All proceeds from our gallery will directly support our after school programs for children.
