The Union League Club is a private social club in New York City. Its fourth and current clubhouse, which opened on February 2, 1931, was designed by Benjamin Wistar Morris, III, and is located at 38 East 37th Street on the corner of Park Avenue in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. The building was designated a New York City landmark on October 25, 2011.Union League clubs, which are legally separate but share similar histories and maintain reciprocal links with one another, are also located in Chicago and Philadelphia. Defunct Union League Clubs were located in Brooklyn and New Haven.HistoryThe club dates its founding from February 6, 1863, during the Civil War. Tensions were running high in New York City at the time, because much of the city's governing class, as well as its large Irish immigrant population, bitterly opposed the war and were eager to reach some kind of accommodation with the Confederate States of America. Thus, pro-Union men chose to form their own club, with the twin goals of cultivating "a profound national devotion" and to "strengthen a love and respect for the Union."

One Madison is a luxury residential condominium tower located on 23rd Street between Broadway and Park Avenue South, at the foot of Madison Avenue, across from Madison Square Park in the Flatiron District of Manhattan, New York City. The building's address is 23 East 22nd Street, where the main lobby is located.HistoryAlthough much of the area nearby is included in various historic districts - such as the Ladies' Mile Historic District, Gramercy Park Historic District and Madison Square North Historic District - the location of One Madison is not, enabling the building to be constructed "as of right" with the transfer of air rights from the shorter buildings that surround the site.When the building was originally announced, it was to be 47 stories and called The Saya; the name was changed to One Madison Park around the time that construction began in 2006 and then to One Madison after it was taken over by the Related Companies. The building as constructed has 60 stories. It features 360-degree views and contains 53 residential units, topped by an 6,850-square-foot triplex penthouse with a 586-square-foot wraparound terrace. The original asking price for the penthouse was $45 million, and was originally announced as including a butler with his own one-bedroom apartment on a lower floor. Prior to Related's take over of the building, the penthouse was under contract for $32 million, but that deal never closed.
Kips Bay Towers is a large two-building condominium complex in the Kips Bay neighborhood of Manhattan with a total of 1,118 units. The complex was designed by architects I.M. Pei and S. J. Kessler, with the involvement of James Ingo Freed, in the brutalist style and completed in 1965. The project was developed by Webb & Knapp.The complex occupies an area of three city blocks, or approximately, bounded by First and Second avenues and East 30th and 33rd streets. The complex includes two residential high-rise buildings each with 20 floors. Additionally, there is a three-acre private garden between the two towers featuring landscaped lawns as well as recreational spaces. Kips Bay Towers is home to more than 4,000 residents.HistoryThe project, originally known as Kips Bay Plaza, was conceived as a middle-income rental project, but was converted to condominium apartments in the mid-1980s, despite controversy with holdout tenants.The project was originally built as a slum clearance project under Title I of the Federal housing act of 1949. In November 1981, a plan to convert Kips Bay Towers into condominiums became effective, however, the conversion was bogged down in litigation. By 1984, approximately 70% of the apartments had been purchased, 50% by existing tenants and the remaining 20% by non-residents.
The Grolier Club is a private club and society of bibliophiles in New York City. Founded in January 1884, it is the oldest existing bibliophilic club in North America. The club is named after Jean Grolier de Servières, Viscount d'Aguisy, Treasurer General of France, whose library was famous; his motto, "Io. Grolierii et amicorum", suggested his generosity in sharing books. The Club's stated objective is "the literary study of the arts pertaining to the production of books, including the occasional publication of books designed to illustrate, promote and encourage these arts; and the acquisition, furnishing and maintenance of a suitable club building for the safekeeping of its property, wherein meetings, lectures and exhibitions shall take place from time to time..."Collections and programsThe Grolier Club maintains a research library specializing in books, bibliography and bibliophily, printing, binding, illustration and bookselling. The Grolier Club has one of the more extensive collections of book auction and book seller catalogs in North America. The Library has the archives of a number of prominent bibliophiles such as Sir Thomas Phillipps, and of bibliophile and print collecting groups, such as the Hroswitha Club of women book collectors and the Society of Iconophiles.The Grolier Club also has a program of public exhibitions which "treat books and prints as objects worthy of display, on a par with painting and sculpture." The exhibitions draw on various sources including holdings of the Club, its members, and of institutional libraries. In 2013, it hosted an exhibition on women in science.

Created by artists in 1961, as the distribution branch of the New American Cinema Group, the Coop has more than 5,000 films, videotapes and DVDs in its collection. The New American Cinema Group, Inc. / Film-Makers’ Cooperative (FMC) has a new home at 475 Park Avenue South, on the northeast corner of 32nd Street. Our fantastic sixth-floor site offers a 20-seat theater, The Charles S. Cohen Screening Room. Our offices and archives are approximately 2000 square feet. We have signed a five-year lease with the real estate developer Charles S. Cohen that calls for the organization to pay a symbolic rent of $1 a year.
