Who was the first critical voice to historically champion the Los Angeles art scene as the equal of New York and often superior to it? That would be Mat Gleason in the pages of Coagula Art Journal in the early 1990s. Coagula Curatorial is the commercial gallery component of the Coagula empire, delivering on that same promise.
The Good Luck Gallery, located in the heart of the Chinatown arts district, is the only gallery in Los Angeles to specialize in self-taught art. Whether it is called Outsider, Folk Art, Naive or Visionary, the emphasis is on artists who are driven by a compulsive need to create and who work beyond the margins of the traditional art world. The gallery is owned and curated by Paige Wery, who brings twenty years of experience and a passion for intuitive art to the venture. For six years she was the publisher of Artillery, Southern California’s premier art magazine. The Good Luck Gallery – which opened in 2014 – brings attention to the purity and vitality of work that speaks for itself, without formal training or need of critical interpretation. Established artists are shown, as well as the emerging and overlooked, and every form of art – from painting, drawing and sculpture to performance and installations – will be on display. In addition to regular gallery shows, an online shop features paintings, ceramics, thrift store finds, handmade arts and crafts, as well as zines and literature.
Established August 2013, Slow Culture was founded as an independent art gallery located in the Northeast Los Angeles neighborhood of Highland Park. With an exhaustive schedule of programming, the gallery has been focused on developing a narrative of it’s own over the past 3 years. From art shows, commercial projects, to off site exhibits, an extensive range of media has been explored. During this time, the concept has evolved from gallery to a culture based platform. Committed to sustaining this growth, Slow Culture felt the need to find a new home. With an established community of art galleries and proximity to Downtown Los Angeles, Chinatown felt like the right location. This new space will provide the gallery flexibility to expand it’s concept and provide their community a facility to help foster their creative growth. Slow Culture’s focus is to develop a both physical and digital platform to support artists & creatives across all mediums.
Los Angeles based Project Gallery opened its doors in 2012 with an intent to bring a distinct and unique voice to the community. Featured contemporary artists have included Zio Ziegler, Ian Ross, Jeremiah Kille, HUEMAN, as well as L.A.’s rising stars Mikael Brandrup and Wyatt Mills. Rare exhibitions with world-renowned musicians Serj Tankian and MOBY both garnered widespread acclaim and further established Project’s cutting edge notoriety. Photography exhibits have featured the following iconic shows: Indian Larry by celebrity photographer Timothy White; ROCK/FIGHT with The Morrison Hotel Gallery hosted by legend Henry Rollins and 50 Years of the Rolling Stones. Project has received extensive media attention from The Los Angeles Times, Entertainment Weekly, LA Weekly, Arrested Motion, Artillery, NYLON,Complex, Los Angeles Confidential, Fast Company, KCET Artbound and many other regional, national and international outlets.

IAO’s work embraces three primary areas of intent: We Innovate by creating an environment that encourages new exploration of the olfactive arts, fostering discussion and experience of scent through strategic cross-discipline projects, and by providing space for experimentation in our Perfumers’ Lab. Similarly, we facilitate new creative practices spanning the popular and fine arts through project-based residency and research programs. We Educate by generating greater public awareness of scent and perfumery and by helping emergent perfumers gain greater knowledge, exposure and skills. As well, we inform the public about social and scientific issues that impact the art form. We do this by offering ongoing series of classes and workshops, and through a public speaking series. We Support by advancing the art of perfumery and the work of independent scent creators through business mentorships and creative partnerships, and with our ongoing creative residency programs in our Los Angeles chief facility. In 2013 we launched the Art and Olfaction Awards, an awards mechanism devoted to promoting and advancing independent and artisan perfumers. More information can be found at artandolfactionawards.com

Modern Multiples is a leader in the next generation fine art printmaking and publishing who specialize in serigraphs and digital giclees. We collaborate with a wide array of contemporary artists and designers to create unique and highly collectible works of art. Our master printers employ their highly skilled and technical knowledge towards educating and enabling artists to immerse themselves into the printmaking process. We offer artists an opportunity to work one-on-one with our master printers and digital experts to create unique, signed and numbered, archival, limited editions. At Modern Multiples, we are dedicated to the realization of the collective vision between the artist, publisher and printer. Each production is unique in its progression through the different levels of involvement and participation of the artist and publisher. We accommodate all levels of desired involvement by the artists – from color separations, stencil-making and color mixing to actual production and curation. From simple one color monoprints to 125-color Yamagata prints, our master printers and project managers work with the artist to ensure a final product that will fulfill the artist’s vision. We employ stencil-making techniques, photo-mechanical reproduction, 4-color process work and specialize in hand painted multiples, which incorporate fine airbrush techniques and painterly brush work, making each print an original. Most importantly, we nurture and shepherd artists under our care to produce the highest quality work they can dream possible. The ultimate beauty of the printmaking tradition is shown in its democratic nature. A fine-art print has the ability to reach a greater population of appreciators that may not be able afford original works, such as paintings. By providing our service to the art community, we continue the great tradition of making accessible works of art for the public. Modern Multiples inhabits two buildings that total 6,000 square feet. The main building, is where Modern Multiples’ productions and operations for contract serigraph and digital print work are located. The facilities include: a fully functional project space that houses two large format serigraph presses, several state of the art Epson printers, an etching press, a showroom and event space, bedrooms for visiting artists, garden and courtyard spaces, and a vault of inventory ready to show. Modern Multiples’ facilities are more than a simple print studio; it is a gathering place for artists, collectors and industry professionals. We invite artists for talks and residencies from all over the world, provide tours to college students, and teach printmaking classes. We host events such as supper clubs, poetry readings, comedy shows, and promotions events for service industry professionals. We look forward to printing with you.

Throughout our lives, we continually ask ourselves, “Who am I?” Through art and divination tools like tarot and channelings, we are able to see different perspectives of our multi-dimensional facets. (Show pictures of tarot cards and art) BlueMagicRedDusk is a Vision Art Divination Service that is created through the Caricreatures of Maxwell Aston and the Tarot Readings, Intuitive Channeling, and Soul Portraits of Rafaella Angelica Nepales. (Show Max’s zenith art and my soul portrait) Our vision art services aren’t just your usual caricatures or portraits. In Max’s Cari-creatures, he channels into your essence and opens up a portal into a reflection of yourself as an epic being that also melts into the landscape of your unique soul. He offers his caricreatures with the choice of it being a pencil sketch or a digital drawing, or a full out canvas on print that he can create for you. They’re an intense deep reflection of you to face any fears, any shadows that you’ve been afraid to look at, and through Caricreatures, you can come face to face with your own demons that are transmuted through art to become your Guardian. Max’s guardian is Zenith, who has helped him through a lot. (Show caricreatures, max’s zenith, max drawing, max at events with pencil caricatures) Soul Portraits are harmoniously like yin and yang with Caricreatures and also stand on their own as a psychedelic reflection of your multidimensional being. Max’s art specializes in monochrome, shadows featuring creature like beings while I use vivid light colors and glow effects featuring angelic and elemental animal totem like guides. From your reference picture, I feel from your expression and the personality archetype that's radiating from your facial features and energy, those colors are already there on your face and it's as if i see them already in my mind to put them in specific places. With every soul portrait I do, I have the intention of connecting with your guides and higher self to guide me to the healing patterns and colors and empowering archetypal reflection that you need to see at this time in your life. Max and I offer our services through online through our website, Facebook connections and messaging, and also do live local events. When we do events it’s really a magical experience. Max and I synergize together and bring the participant, a holistic reflection of both their shadow and their light self and we synch up the visions that we see while offering our unique interpretations and guidance. I also do intuitive channeling and tarot cards along with my soul portraits, and while I am doing readings, Max is taking the time to draw his caricreature and observe the person’s energy. For intuitive channeling I love being able to really feel the person phsyically by holding their hands and getting a very strong reading that I see in my head like a dream. All those dream like visuals can be interpreted through my knowledge of symbols and intuition. I can feel what they’re going through, the blocks they may have created. I also channel messages from their guides that offer them advice, things they need to hear that they’ve been knocking on the door with to announce or shake them out of something. When I do Tarot Readings, a lot of people say they’re afraid to get a bad card or get the Death card. There’s actually nothing to be afraid of because the Tarot is also like a dream, where everything is symbolic. When people get those cards that reflect challenges or the Death card, I feel that it’s about the time to let go of the old and move on to new opportunities for growth. Sometimes we need to see a reflection that shows you’ve held onto something for too long and you are going through an exciting new change. My readings always offer a positive guidance to see your challenges as exciting and you always have the free will to decide how you want to experience your life. By the time I’m done doing my readings, Max has revealed many times that as I have been channeling and reading cards, he has gotten the symbol to draw in his head right before I say it, it’s like even though I’m the one talking and he’s being silent, we’re all in conversation on a higher level, me, max, and your higher self. When Max is done drawing, he offers his interpretation of your caricreature. By end of your session with us, you now have had a handful of very enriching and interactive reflections for you to take in and lots of guidance from many different sources. We offer our creative and unique gifts to empower you to unveil the illusion of any blocks you might have or to see why a certain situation of relationship is unfolding in your life. Every time we read, we create a deep connection with the participant, and we embrace that it’s powerful to be as vulnerable as possible with each other. We also respect any stage the participant is in their lives however comfortable they are with sharing their stories and we all reflect to each other what we need to hear. We thank you for connecting with us. All our clients, we love keeping in touch with through Facebook if they’d like. And now our clients are our new friends that we can talk to about anything and support each other. We’re happy to do what we love and offer this creative reflection for all to heal and feel the excitement of being excited. We love you!
