The Morrison Inn Reviews

301 Bear Creek Ave
Morrison, CO 80465

(303) 697-6650

The Morrison Inn opened in 1979 in its original location at 301 Bear Creek Ave. 301 Bear Creek was built ca. 1880 and began as Pike & Perry Mercantile. It burned in 1919 and the building had to be repaired. It then operated as a dance hall. After the 1938 flood, the Schneider family ran a drug store business until 1973. In 1983 The Morrison Inn expanded into 303 & 305 Bear Creek Ave. 303 and 305 Bear Creek were also built ca. 1880 and began as Henry Wolf's Pool Hall, tobacco and barber shop. It then became a mercantile owned by Levi H. McGill in 1892 and in 1906 it became the Pike and Perry Mercantile. In 1916 it was the first filling station to have one hand pump on the sidewalk to fill cars with gas. In 1987 The Morrison Inn opened its outdoor patio, and in 1991 enclosed half of it into what we now call the sunroom. In 2002 The Morrison Inn expanded once again into 307 Bear Creek Ave. This added an interior space that is now our retail shop and restrooms as well as expanded the patio out back. The building at 307 Bear Creek was built in 1876 and was originally Pete Christian's Shop. It was later a shoe shop run by Pete Schneider. In January 2016 the Morrison Inn will begin its 38th year of business. We began in 1979 only serving 25 meals our first day. We now pour 15,000 gallons of our famous margaritas and serve 50,000 pounds of complementary chips and salsa every year. We hope you enjoy your visit to historic Morrison. The Morrison Inn is proud to be part of Morrison's more recent history.

Al (Al-O-Saurus) came into our coffeeshop and ordered a very large Americano. He was pleasant, interesting, and we enjoyed our visit with him, but like all dinosars he disapperaed. Just 500 Yards from here, they dug up the first known dinosaur bones in America. It is widely believed and held that they were not Al’s. Every day we are hoping for Al to return and you too!
