San Diego Comic-Con International is a multi-genre entertainment and comic convention held annually in San Diego, California. It was founded as the Golden State Comic Book Convention in 1970 by a group of San Diegans, which included Shel Dorf, Richard Alf, Ken Krueger, and Mike Towry; later, it was called the "San Diego Comic Book Convention". The name, as given on its website, is Comic-Con International: San Diego; but it is commonly known simply as Comic-Con or the San Diego Comic-Con or "SDCC". It is a four-day event (Thursday–Sunday) held during the summer at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California. On the Wednesday evening prior to the official opening of the event, there is a preview for professionals, exhibitors, and select guests pre-registered for all four days.Comic-Con International also produces two other conventions, WonderCon, held in Los Angeles, California, and the Alternative Press Expo (APE), held in San Francisco. Since 1974, Comic-Con has bestowed its annual Inkpot Award on guests and persons of interest in the popular arts industries, as well as on members of Comic-Con's board of directors and the Convention committee. It is also the home of the Will Eisner Awards.
City College is a station of the Blue, Orange, and Silver Lines on the San Diego Trolley. It is located in the East Village neighborhood of the city and serves students at San Diego City College and San Diego High School, workers at the warehouse facilities located on the outskirts of Downtown, and an increasing number of new apartment complexes.This station was closed from September 10, 2012 until November 16, 2012, for renovations as part of the Trolley Renewal Project, during which a temporary stop was erected one block away on C Street between 10th and 11th Avenues.

The Metropolitan Correctional Center, San Diego is a United States federal administrative detention facility in California which holds male and female prisoners of all security levels. It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the United States Department of Justice.Most prisoners held at MCC San Diego have pending cases in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. MCC San Diego also holds prisoners serving brief sentences. MCC San Diego is an administrative facility designed to house federal prisoners of all security levels, including both male and female offenders. The building is 23 stories and can house 1,300 inmates.HistoryMCC San Diego opened in December 1974 and represented the first shift within the Bureau of Prisons to a new generation of high-rise prison buildings, along with MCC New York and MCC Chicago.Notable incidentsOn March 18, 2011, the office of Laura E. Duffy, the US Attorney for the Southern District of California, announced that Brandon McKinney, a former correctional officer at MCC San Diego, had been indicted on suspicion of having sexual relations with a female inmate while on duty on July 20, 2010. Since sexual relationships between prison staff and inmates are prohibited by law regardless of consent, McKinney was terminated and charged with assault. McKinney subsequently pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 10 months in prison on August 10, 2012.Duffy's office issued a press release on July 18, 2013 announcing that Kirk Borja, an inmate at MCC San Diego, had pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute methamphetamine and possessing heroin with the intent to distribute it. Borja was originally indicted on the methamphetamine trafficking charge following his arrest in January 2012 as part of Operation Carnalismo, an investigation into the Mexican Mafia gang. Borja also admitted in his plea to concealing heroin inside his body while he was at MCC San Diego and planning to distribute it to other inmates before it was discovered by correctional officers. Borja is still being held at MCC San Diego pending sentencing.

These ships transport and launch amphibious craft and vehicles with their crews and embarked personnel in amphibious assault operations. The Whidbey Island class dock landing ship is a dock landing ship of the United States Navy. Introduced to fleet service in 1985, this class of ship features a massive well deck for the transport of four LCAC hovercraft for landing Marines. It was designed specifically to operate LCAC vessels. It has the largest capacity for these landing craft (four) of any U.S. Navy amphibious platform. It will also provide docking and repair services for LCACs and for conventional landing craft.

The USS Pearl Harbor is a Harpers Ferry-class dock landing ship. It is named after the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941. The name Pearl Harbor was awarded on October 12th, 1993, and the ship was laid down on January 27th, 1995 in Avondale Shipyards, New Orleans, LA. She was launched on February 24, 1996 and officially commissioned on May 30th, 1998. The Pearl Harbor is currently stationed out of Naval Station San Diego, California.

To request a copy of a document that is not available on-line, you may contact Information Services at (619) 533-4000. You may also submit your request on-line. Copies of most documents are 25 cents per page. The cost of CDs and audio tapes will vary depending on the specific request. Legislative Services The Legislative Services Division is made up of three sections: Dockets, Hearings, and Council Actions. The Dockets section prepares, distributes, and uploads onto the City's webpage the Docket and supporting materials for all regular and supplemental agendized items for all City Council meetings, Special Council Meetings, and Emergency Council Meetings. The Hearings Section prepares all Land Use Hearings items that appear on the Docket. The Council Actions section creates and publishes online the Summary Sheet (produced prior to) and the Results and offical Minutes (produced after) for each meeting, and they also maintain and update the online Resolution and Ordinance database. In addition, this section is responsible for updating and maintaining the City Charter, Municipal Code and Council Policies. The entire Legislative Services Division acts as a resource for the public seeking information regarding actions taken by the City Council at the Council Meetings. Elections Elections staff coordinate and administer the City's municipal elections and elections-related activities. Activities include advising officeholders, candidates and committees of procedures and requirements; processing ballot proposals and initiative petitions; planning and conducting election centrals and inaugurations; administering campaign statements, statements of economic interests and municipal lobbying registration and reporting; providing maps, brochures and instruction manuals to Council, staff, and the public; and preparing technical and analytical reports. Records Management The Records Management Program promotes accessibility and ensures government accountability by assisting City departments to create and maintain updated versions of their Records Disposition Schedules; imaging and providing documents on-line to the public; preserving vital records which protect the rights of the City and its citizens by producing microfilm copies and sending them to an out-of-state facility; providing storage and daily retrieval of inactive records for all City departments; cataloguing and making available on-line photographs of official artifacts; and making available to the public on request archival documents dating from the 1830's.

The Association is a national, not-for-profit organization serving over 25,000 members nationwide. The San Diego Regional Revolving Loan Fund (SDRRLF) and Small Business Micro Revolving Loan Fund (SBMRLF) offer financial assistance to expanding small to mid-size business owners requiring capital, but are unable to meet the terms of traditional banks. Through careful screening of loan applicants and creative loan structuring, the "gap financing" program can get business owners closer to their goal by supplementing private financing of working capital, fixed machinery and equipment, soft costs and new or rehabilitated buildings. The SDRRLF area includes businesses in the Cities of San Diego and Chula Vista while the SBMRLF only includes businesses in the City of San Diego.
The Storefront Improvement Program (SIP) revitalizes building facades visible to customers, neighboring merchants, and residents. The City of San Diego provides design assistance and rebates to small business owners who wish to make a creative change to their storefronts.
