SNIA works closely with elected officials, police and other community leaders to better the quality of life in our neighborhood. Plus, we market the neighborhood to potential residents, through community events.
We are the city site of Christ Memorial Lutheran Church in South County, part of a larger effort to influence the St. Louis region with the gospel. We are Lutheran Christians. We don't believe in walking it alone, or being lone theological rangers. We walk together with about 6,000 other congregations across the country in a church body known as The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Reliant is grounded in the historic Christian faith. We abide by the Confessions and Doctrines of the Lutheran Church. At the center of our faith is the redemptive work Jesus did for us by dying on the Cross and rising from the dead. We strongly hold to the work of God through His means of grace in Holy Communion and Baptism. Reliant Church sees the Scriptures in the Holy Bible as the inerrant Word of God. The Reliant community believes we are called to be children of God and that Christ has come to save all peoples no matter race, color, gender, or past. Humanity is offered a hope and forgiveness through faith in Jesus Christ. Reliant Church believes God has given it a commission to reach St. Louis with the Good News of Christ's forgiveness in sins and hope in eternal life. We believe God has blessed our Church with a congregation of dynamic individuals devoted to the spread of the Gospel in a loving, lively, and diverse way. The iconic cities of the world have defining characteristics that are instantly recognizable. Dense urban cores, vibrant arts and diverse cultural communities, and cheap and efficient public transportation are features which keep cities like New York, Chicago, and London on the map. That vibrancy one feels, the humming electricity in the air when wandering the streets of a cosmopolitan city, is the Human Current. We raise the voltage of the Human Current through people-centric design dedicated to improving access to resources in a few key areas: education, sustainability, and transit. Though we will also be selling some home goods and other retail products, our community building practice - Citizen Carpentry - will hold classes through Dabble and offer discounts to Cowry Collective Timebanking members. We are dedicated to promoting alternative economic models and decentralizing production away from big box stores. Sourcing materials locally as well as upcycling reduces transportation costs and keeps material out of landfills, which helps to reduce our carbon footprint.

The Tower Grove South Neighborhood Association is a soon to be 501c3 non-profit corporation that includes all residents and businesses within its geographic area borders. The “Geographic Area” of the Corporation is the area enclosed by South Grand Avenue on the East, South Kingshighway Boulevard on the West, Arsenal Street on the North, and Chippewa Street on the South. The purpose and objectives of the Corporation are: A. To inform and facilitate communication among residents of the Geographic Area; B. To create a welcoming place for visitors; C. To safeguard the general welfare of the homeowners, residents, and business owners of the Geographic Area; D. To advocate and work for the improvement and betterment of the Geographic Area; E. To assist residents of the Geographic Area in keeping their property in acceptable condition; F. To encourage and help retain community pride in the Geographic Area; and G. To encourage and promote the understanding and appreciation of the historic character of the Geographical Area.

After the deadly heat wave of 1980 and the devastating blizzard two years later, Sister of the Incarnate Word, Patricia A. Kelley founded EnergyCare to provide protection for the poor from the deadly hazards of extreme cold and heat (hypothermia and hyperthermia). Early on, Sr. Pat and volunteers concentrated on public education and referral services. However, Sr. Pat quickly realized that more needed to be done for high-risk populations such as the elderly and seriously ill. By 1986, a full time staff had been hired and more direct services, such as the delivery of heaters and air conditioners had been added. Since then, EnergyCare has continued to grow and enhance its programs and services.
The District was created in 2007 by City of St. Louis Board of Aldermand Bill #67593 for the five-year period beginning January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2012. The District Property is all of the property located within the City of St. Louis abutting the roadway commonly known as Flora Place together with any rear parcels that abut parcels abutting on Flora Place and bounded on the east by Grand Boulevard, on the west by Tower Grove Avenue, on the north by the east-west alleyways located in CB 4935, CB 4940, CB 4941, CB 4946, CB 4947, and CB 4952 (and excluding those properties north of such alley ways abutting Russell Boulevard ), and on the south by the east-west alleyways located in CB 4934, CB 4929, CB 4920, CB 4919, CB 2117, and CB 2118 (and excluding those properties south of such alleyways abutting Flad Avenue). The District is governed by a Board consisting of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Block Captains from each block within the District. The Board meets five times a year or more at the house of the President. The Flora Place CID Board will meet in 2012 on the following schedule. By considering all areas of operations, the GDA puts strong emphasis on reducing, recycling and composting restaurant waste as well as sourcing sustainable food, to-go ware and cleaning supplies.
My First 5k! is a concept born from my first 5k. When I ran my first 5k I trained for nearly six months to accomplish my goal. I went from sedentary to running a full 5k which I though was an unattainable goal for myself. The feeling of pride that I had when I crossed the finish line is indescribable and my hope with My First 5k! is that we can help others achieve the same feeling in a safe and encouraging environment, running their first 5k with a team of others who are feeling the exact same pride and struggle that they are, to make it through their very first race. Racers will be able to sign up as a first 5ker or a motivational runner. First 5kers don’t always travel their first 5k journey alone and we want them to be able to experience it with whoever their motivational figure is. First 5kers will be encouraged to wear yellow so everyone can see them, cheer them on along the way, motivate them throughout the race and give them the support they need to finish their first race strong. Not only will spectators and motivators be able to spot the first 5kers in their yellow shirts, first 5kers will be able to spot each other! Cornerstone endeavors to prepare students for a lifetime of positive social interaction and learning. We believe that children learn best from active involvement with all aspects of the world. From their earliest days at Cornerstone, students explore the beginnings of reading, writing, math, art and science as they play in water, pound on playdough, draw and paint, sing and dance, or cook and bake. Through "hands on/minds on" learning, they build the early foundations of autonomous behavior, taking responsibility for their learning, and accepting the natural consequences of their decisions.

Isaiah 58 MInistries is a collaborative, ecumenical ministry begun in 1970 as 5 Church Association. Five area churches, seeing the need for such a ministry in the community, came together to create this wonderful ministry. It has evolved over the years, and now serves over 600 families every month through its various services.
The festival is named for the old bus and trolley turn around on Thurman between Botanical and Magnolia, known as the Thurman Loop. We're closing the streets at Shenandoah and Thurman from alley to alley and bringing live music, spoken word performances and beautiful arts and crafts to our neighbors and friends. This is a casual family event with no admission charge. Please join us on Friday from 5 PM to 1AM, and Saturday from12PM to 1AM

Founded in 1859, the Missouri Botanical Garden is the nation's oldest botanical garden in continuous operation and a National Historic Landmark.
