Granite City is the nickname of our hometown of St. Cloud, Minnesota - one of the great granite capitals of the world. Back in the 1880’s, quarrying was hard, thirsty work. For miners of Northern European ancestry, that meant beer. So family breweries sprang up. They know the secrets of making beer to match the flavor of food made from scratch. With prohibition, the breweries all but vanished. But the spirit of Granite City is alive and well. Just look around you and raise a glass - To fresh made food, beer fresh brewed and all the delicious things in life! OUR PATENTED BREWING PROCESS: Shortly before we opened our third store, we launched our patented brewing process, Fermentus Interruptus™, which makes micro brewing for multiple locations more efficient. This process, conceived and designed by Mr. Burdick, allows us to ship sweet liquid called wort, from our central brewing facility to individual stores. When this liquid reaches the stores, we begin the fermentation process and complete the brewing. We use Fermentus Interruptus at all of our Granite City Food & Brewery® locations.
The best-known restaurant in Detroit history on will re-open Tuesday, February 14th, 2012 after being closed for 21 years. Nico Gatzaros has spent a year restoring the dining room, refurbishing the entrances, and gutting and replacing almost everything else, from the entire kitchen to the storage areas, bathrooms and heating and air-conditioning systems. Leading the kitchen will be executive chef Robert Scherer, 27, a Grosse Pointe Woods native who previously was executive sous chef at Emeril Lagasse's New Orleans Fish House in Las Vegas.

Being centrally located downtown Detroit, makes the STUDIO a viable option for off-site meetings and events when your eager to break away from your normal daily work routine. Being primarily furnished by Haworth and Haworth Collection products, our 2500sf space offers 11 different work-zones from a single person lounge, to a 40 person conference space. For the ‘heads-down-flying-solo’ type to the, ‘more brains are better than one’ types, the STUDIO is designed to accommodate the variety of work styles present in today’s work place. OUR TRAINING/CONFERENCE SPACE This space is good for meetings of 20 up to 40 (dependent on layout), and can be reserved in 1 hour increments and all day if needed. The room is quite private from the rest of the STUDIO, and comes equipped with conference seating, powered tables, a 75” wall mounted monitor, and an AV/Sound system that is separate from the rest of the STUDIO. Rate; $50/hour NEED THE ENTIRE SPACE FOR YOUR NEXT EVENT? We offer more than a just cool spot for impromptu meetings; we also rent out our entire space for private events for up to 150.
