Talking Tots is a “parent-and-me” course that promotes speech, language, and social communication development through play. The course is designed for toddlers between the ages of 13 months and 36 months. Classes are taught by licensed speech-language pathologists, who discuss and demonstrate proven techniques and provide support while parents and caregivers practice (and play) with their toddlers. What to expect: Each class is taught by a certified speech language pathologist. Every week, each class will have a specific theme/topic, word, sound and sign of the day. There will be songs, a mini lesson and various activities all related to the topic to help stimulate more language, introduce basic concepts and encourage longer utterances from the child. Both the activities and songs will include lots of movements and gestures to help improve gross motor skills. In addition, each class will include an arts and craft project to encourage creativity and improve fine motor skills.
