PEPPERCLUB opened in the summer of 1989. We serve dinner influenced by cuisines from around the world, while supporting local Maine vendors. We use seasonal produce, seafood from our Maine waters, and local beef, lamb and poultry. PEPPERCLUB strives to support local vendors, whether it be a local brewery, ethnic market, or fishermen right in Casco Bay. One of our other focuses is to provide delicious foods to meet everyone’s dietary needs or wishes. We always have many vegan and vegetarian options. Almost our whole menu can be prepared gluten-free and, not to worry, there will always be options for our meat and seafood lovers. We hope that while dining with us you feel the comfort of home while tasting flavors from right here in Maine and around the world. The PEPPERCLUB no longer just serves dinner. In 2006, The Good Egg Café reopened to serve breakfast at PEPPERCLUB. The Good Egg Café was an immensely popular Portland restaurant throughout the 80′s and early 90′s. I grew up at the Good Egg while working for my sister, Annemarie, and my brother, Jim. I remember it vividly as do so many of its loyal clientele. It has been at their urging that we decided to recreate The Good Egg Café at the PEPPERCLUB. This is as close as I can get to the “old Good Egg”. I hope you too will continue to come here and that you will enjoy the atmosphere and congenial company, as well as the food. The Good Egg Café was not just about the food, but the good people, the lasting friendships and the memories that we all made. The Good Egg Café serves a full breakfast with items like homemade corned beef hash, vegetarian hash, multigrain pancakes, eggs from hell, and homemade cinnamon buns. Nothing beats our hearty breakfast with a cup of our specially roasted blend from Coffee by Design. Come in and enjoy a quick weekday breakfast, breakfast business meeting, or a leisurely weekend family breakfast with us! - Owner, Mary Ledue Paine

Hand-rolled croissants, pain au chocolat, brioche, and scones, are prepared in plain view in our open production bakery and often served still warm from our ovens. Everything we make embodies our commitment to artisanal methods, natural ingredients and delicious food. The heart of our bakery is a small, dedicated group of hardworking bakers, retailers, office organizers, and drivers, who do their best each day to ensure that we serve our customers well. We’re grateful to our amazing staff, loyal customers and the most supportive local community who allow us to do work that we love every day.
