Minnesota Center for Book Arts is the place to feed your curiosity, stretch your creativity and get your hands dirty! From the traditional crafts of hand papermaking, letterpress printing, printmaking and bookbinding to non-traditional artmaking and self-publishing techniques like zines and minicomics, MCBA celebrates and supports the limitless creative evolution of the book arts. MCBA's programming is made possible in part by a grant provided by the Minnesota State Arts Board, through an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature from the State's general fund and its Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008. Additional support provided by Target, Wet Paint, private foundations, MCBA members and individuals like you.

We fulfill our mission to preserve and share the diverse history of Hennepin County through our vast collections, exhibitions, an archives/library, public programs, and publications. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students or seniors, and free for children under 12 and HHM members. The first Thursday of the month is free for all! Fully experiencing the museum at the present time requires climbing stairs between floors in our historic building. We are working hard to provide an elevator in the future to make your museum fully accessible to everyone.

My one-of-a-kind floors have these advantages plus one more: THEY'RE works of ART! When people ask what kind of Art of I do the best way to describe it is to say I'm in construction "Art Construction" that is. Because I'm not focused on only one part of Art making. I'm comfortable designing custom floors.I start with nothing and go from there. I live for surprises life is filled with them.I enjoy being lost not noting what or where the Artwork is taking itself, This makes me interested in the art making, along with many mysteries. I'm not looking to answer them. Only observe.

The Stevens Square Center for the Arts (SSCA) is an artist-run nonprofit community arts center located in the heart of Stevens Square, the most densely populated neighborhood in Minneapolis. The Stevens Square Center for the Arts provides affordable artist work studios; hosts regular art exhibits; and works to stabilize the Stevens Square neighborhood by serving as a community center that puts more “eyes on the street.” SSCA was formed in 2003 as a partnership between the Stevens Square Community Organization (SSCO), JAS Apartments, and two-dozen Minneapolis artists looking to turn a vacant commercial space into a community asset. After extensive renovations, the SSCA has transformed a former police sub-station into 5,500 square feet of gallery and studio space. The organization is run entirely by volunteers, and is overseen by a board of directors. Since late 2003, SSCA has been an independent organization, and is no longer affiliated with JAS Apartments. SSCA received its 501 (c) (3) status in 2006.

Franklin Art Works is an alternative exhibition space dedicated to presenting new work by artists at pivotal moments in their careers. Franklin's vision is to be a leading platform for discovering and showcasing the current moment in contemporary art through diverse and ambitious solo exhibitions.

One of the most celebrated art museums in the country, the Walker Art Center is known for its innovative presentations and acclaimed collections of contemporary art across the spectrum of the visual, performing, and media arts. Walker programs examine the questions that shape and inspire us as individuals, cultures, and communities. Located in the WeDo MPLS Cultural District, its campus includes the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden.

Located in the Lyn-Lake neighborhood of Minneapolis, Highpoint Center for Printmaking occupies 10,000 square feet and is a street level facility facing Lake Street. Highpoint Center for Printmaking provides the following opportunities: * Educational Programming & Community Programs for all ages and backgrounds in printmaking. * A Printshop Cooperative which provides access for local artists to create and show their work in a supportive workshop environment. * A Visiting Artists Program—local, national and international in scope—through which invited artists create original prints under guidance and support of a Master Printer. * A Gallery that enables visitors to view exhibitions of local, national, and international prints. Most work is offered for sale to the public.
