The facility is a thirteen-story building divided into eight micro-libraries. Floors two through seven and nine through ten are divided into public subject areas and are managed by subject specialist librarians. Opening fall 2010, the new Stadium Tower offers a state of the art option for our upperclassmen. Students who have achieved sophomore status are eligible to live in Stadium Tower Our upperclassmen participating in the following programs will also be housed here: academic honors program, Panhellenic sorority women and the Marching Southerners . Every apartment contains four private bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchenette and common area. Each bedroom is furnished with an adjustable twin loft bed, chest of drawers, study desk and chair. The common area is furnished with a sofa, chair, end table, entertainment stand and two person dinette set. Study lounges are provided on each floor, along with exercise rooms and social lounges. Computer labs are available, with WiFi provided throughout the building. With convenient access to Burgess-Snow Field residents are sure to enjoy Gamecock Football events! Applicants must mutually request roommates, or roommates will be randomly assigned to each apartment.
Pi Kappa Phi develops its membership through the Ritual of Initiation, but also through a variety of programs and opportunities – many of which lead the interfraternal world. Members of Pi Kappa Phi have a duty to prepare themselves diligently to shoulder their full responsibility as citizens – as men of C.L.A.S.S. The letters of the acronym represent tenets, each of which describes how brothers are expected to live their lives as students and alumni. Character Pi Kappa Phi develops men of character. A man of true character lives by his personal values as well as those espoused in the fraternity's Ritual of Initiation. He demonstrates personal integrity and ultimate respect, ensuring his actions reflect positively upon every member of the fraternity. Pi Kappa Phi instills the value of character through programs such as Pi Kapp College, ResponseAbility and the Certified Ritaulist Program, as well as through our Ritual of Initiation and subordinate rituals. Leadership Pi Kappa Phi was founded to create leadership opportunities; therefore, the fraternity Phi believes that leadership is a choice rather than an action. The fraternity also expects that members will commit to a lifetime of leadership in their workplace and community. Pi Kappa Phi offers some of the most innovative leadership development programs in the interfraternal world, including Pi Kapp College, Mid Year Leadership Conference and the Associate Chapter Institute. Achievement For most people achievement is the equivalent of success, which comes in many forms and places. Regardless, members of Pi Kappa Phi strive to emulate our founders' pursuit of excellence, which brings credit to the fraternity. Each year, Pi Kappa Phi's Summer Awards and Winter Awards recognize students, alumni, volunteers and friends of the fraternity for their accomplishments, improvements and achievements. Scholarship Scholarship refers to activities that cultivate intellectual curiosity, growth and development. Student members are encouraged to attain the highest possible standards of academic achievement, supported by Pi Kappa Phi's academic success resources. The office is student oriented, focused, and willing to serve a diverse student body. The services provided by Student Life are intended to compliment the educational process and contribute to a well-rounded education so that students may develop physically, socially, spiritually, intellectually, and morally.
Jacksonville State University's Gamecock Gallop 5K began in 2001. Over 2000 runners and walkers from Calhoun, Etowah, St. Clair, Talladega, Cherokee, Birmingham, and many other Alabama counties have participated! We are proudly a part of the Anniston Runner's Club Grand Prix Race Series. Proceeds from the Gamecock Gallop provide Health, Physical Education, Exercise Science and Recreation students at JSU an opportunity to attend Professional Conferences in their field so they may excel as leaders and promote running/walking/movement along with the benefits of staying fit.

The JSU Herbarium was established in the late 1960’s by Dr. Ken E. Landers and Dr. Jerry A. Clonts, and early collections primarily documented the flora of Northeastern Alabama. Throughout the 1980’s until the present, JSU professors, students, and colleagues grew the herbarium to over 60,000 specimens. Curator: Dr. Jimmy K. Fast Forward will kick off during the Fall 2014 semester. This initiative has four distinct parts: Faculty Commons, Faculty Mentoring Program, Critical Thinking SKills and Assessments for Students, and a One-to-One iPad Initiative to begin Fall 2015.
The Jacksonville State University College of Education & Professional Studies prepares teacher candidates in 15 licensure areas. Partnering with area school districts in 10 counties, the Office of Clinical Experiences is responsible for placement of approximately 500 students each semester for practicum & internship.

Alpha Omicron Omega is a Co-Ed fraternity meaning men and women are able to join. Membership in our fraternity does not exclude a member from being eligible to join another fraternity or sorority. In A.O.Omega, we strive to maintain a healthy balance between education, creativity, and professionalism. You do NOT have to be an education major in order to gain membership. A.O.Omega is a NON hazing fraternity. We are professionals. Our brothers participate in both social activities such as movie nights, off campus trips, as well as professional events such as interview competitions, resume workshops, and networking events.
