OUR NAME: The name “Andalusia” is chosen because Muslims in Andalusia (now Spain and Portugal) were able to produce a great civilization that the whole world experienced and benefited from. We envision nurturing Muslim youth that will contribute to humanity’s civilization in the twenty-first century as the youth of Andalusia did. OUR GOALS: • Establish an Islamic School from Pre-K to 12th grade to serve Yonkers and the surrounding areas. • Excel in all standards of education. • Offer an environment where Islam is embraced in the heart and nurtured in the mind. • Protect future generations from the negative influence of society. • Prepare dynamic individuals who will become a force of positive change in the community.
We are the Yonkers Police Athletic League Robotics Program (Yonkers PALBOTICS). Our organization is set up to introduce the residents of Yonkers to STEM and robotics. Currently, our only program is our annual summer camp, but we hope to expand our offerings in the future. This page is designed not only to promote our program, but also provide information and updates about our events as well as pictures of us in action. We are entire volunteer based and operate in conjunction with the Yonkers High School Robotics Team, the Mechadogs.

City Harvest Pre-School is presently using P.A.F. - Preventing Academic Failure: A Multisensory-Approach Reading Curriculum. The Word of God is richly taught everyday during chapel through songs, skits, puppets and direct instruction and permeates the learning atmosphere. The Pre-School is committed to creating a childhood environment by providing experiences that will enrich and enhance each child’s cognitive, language, social, physical, and emotional development. Every second week of the month is Math and “Science Emphasis Week”. Monthly topical unit studies emphasize areas of science, social studies, music and the Bible.

In May 2013 Sarah Lawrence College entered into an alliance with the Hudson River Valley Environmental Education Institute, which has operated the Beczak Environmental Education Center on the banks of the Hudson River in downtown Yonkers. The collaboration enables the College to establish a research field station and facilitate faculty and student research while continuing environmental education programming about the river for school and community groups. Plans for the Center include student and faculty research in Ecology and Environmental Studies, and academic work in multiple fields in the downtown Yonkers location. Sarah Lawrence students will also intern as instructors of environmental science on site for K-12 students, providing support for the existing education programs staff.
The foundation of which The Lanza Learning Center has been built upon was set by New Little Branches Inc. founder, Anna Abrokwa. Her tireless work for over the past 13 years has helped educate hundreds of children. With the support we've been provided by Mrs. Patricia Lanza, we've been able to make Ann's dreams of a first class center and education for our children a reality. From the basics of a child learning their ABC's and how to count or tie their laces, we will be there to shape the hearts and minds of these children. The power and passion of each Lanza Learning Center teacher will be used to guarantee the highest standard of education and welfare of these children. The Lanza Learning Center has been named after Mrs. Patricia Lanza to honor her commitment and generosity to the plight of the less fortunate.
