Since 1969, IAR in NYC has taught audio recording, audio engineering, and post production. Our grads pursue careers in music recording, production, live sound, radio/TV/film, and more. Our teachers are active in the world music scene, keeping our program relevant and stimulating. IAR fosters individual growth within a committed, supportive community. Trained specialists are with you in each class, grads can return for complimentary re-training, and placement extends beyond graduation. Our balanced program focuses on practice and theory, using Pro Tools, MIDI training, recording in our studio, advanced mixing, and much more. Federal Title IV grants/loans, school scholarships, extended payment plans and Veterans aid are available if you qualify. We are both NYS licensed and ACCSC accredited.
The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts offers an Associate’s degree in Film and TV Performance, as well as an optional third year focused on acting for the stage. Our programs are dedicated to providing professional acting training that is practical, relevant, and rigorous. Every year we travel, see and audition thousands of aspiring actors only to allow a select few into our conservatory. Those students get the opportunity to experience the most demanding, comprehensive and rewarding acting training for today's aspiring actor. Acting is not a prerequisite for admission. The Art Moderne styled Art Theatre first opened at 36 east 8th Street in 1930, starting out as a late-run showcase for American and foreign movies, but became a first-run theater in the late 1950’s. The Art Theatre was later became the Movieland. In the mid-90s architects Davis Brody Bond was hired to renovate the building for use by NYU and added the facade.

NYU undergraduates may pursue a minor or a B.A./M.A. in Irish and Irish-American Studies. Graduate students may earn a Masters in Irish and Irish-American Studies For the New York community, we present a weekly public events series during the academic year, as well as a monthly traditional Irish music series. For the non-credit adult learner, we host evening Irish language classes. We also serve as a resource center for Irish, Irish-American, and Irish diasporic culture.

The New School is a private research university in Lower Manhattan, New York City, located mostly in Greenwich Village. From its founding in 1919 by progressive New York educators, and for most of its history, the university was known as The New School for Social Research. Between 1997 and 2005 it was known as New School University. The university and each of its colleges were renamed in 2005.The university was set up as the University in Exile in 1933 as a graduate division to serve as an academic haven for scholars escaping from Nazi Germany among other adversarial regimes in Europe. The University in Exile in 1934 was chartered by New York State and its name was changed to the Graduate Faculty of Political and Social Science. In 2005, it was renamed the New School for Social Research. The New School has launched or housed a range of institutions such as the international research institute World Policy Institute, the Vera List Center for Art and Politics, the India China Institute, the Observatory on Latin America, and the Center for New York City Affairs. L.U.C.H.A was founded in 1971 after the Higher Education Opportunity Program (H.E.O.P) began to diversify New York University. The influx of Latinos and African American students created a need for an outlet in which their voices could be heard. Politically minded students came together and formed the League of Unified Cooperative Hispanic Americans. In 1994, the E-board of the already long established club decided to change the name of their organization. L.U.C.H.A became "Latinos Unidos Con Honor Y Amistad," representing the struggle that breeds accomplishments and success for our people. Que Siga La L.U.C.H.A!!! L.U.C.H.A is a student-run organization and relies heavily on the support of incoming, as well as returning, students to keep its legacy alive. While we focus primarily on issues concerning Latinos, we encourage people of all cultural backgrounds to attend and participate in all of our meetings and major events. Steinhardt's Department of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University is at the forefront of innovative scholarship and teaching. Our research and curriculum emphasizes the study of global media and culture, digital media and new technologies, media history, visual culture, sound studies, media institutions and industries, and political communication. Our faculty includes many world-renowned scholars of media and culture who investigate the role of the media, images, and communication and cultural practices. Our approach to the challenges of the current media environment comes from an in-depth understanding of technology as a social and cultural phenomenon and the histories of media and technology that have brought us to where we are today. In the rapidly changing context of digital media, mobile screens, global cultural flow, and economic volatility, we see the intersections of media, culture, and communication as crucial to understanding and navigating an increasingly globally connected world.
Tech@NYU was created in Fall 2009 to connect technical and non-technical NYU students interested in building technology startups. Incubated with the help of the NYU Stern Berkley Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Tech@NYU held its first event “Business Meets Tech” in October 2009 to help students form teams for the Stern Business Plan Competition. The event was attended by over 50 students and co-sponsored with the Masters Association for Computer Science, the Entrepreneurial Exchange Group (undergrad), & the Entrepreneur’s Exchange (MBA). Now, our events are routinely attended by over 1000 members of the NYU undergrad and graduate community as well as entrepreneurs residing in New York City. We are an officially recognized NYU All-Square club.
Our presentations and professional events help educate those interested in the areas of, but not limited to, investment banking, sales and trading, equity research, private wealth management, and capital markets. By participating in our events, we strive to encourage our members to explore alternative career possibilities with boutique firms, commercial banks and entrepreneurial start-ups and alternative career paths in financial consulting, management & operations, and regulation. A few of our main objectives are to expose the realities, challenges, and lifestyles of each chosen field and to provide opportunities to meet business leaders actively involved in the financial field and professors with ample academic experience in finance.
