Once a refrigerated food distribution warehouse, City Winery Chicago has transformed a 1911 building into a haven for those who are passionate about wine, music and culinary arts. Built with re-used material, such as the original wood beams, masonry and brick, this fully functional winery, restaurant and concert venue has become a focal point of West Loop nightlife. City Winery hosts wine making classes, wine dinners and tastings, intimate music concerts, private events and offers shared plates dining. A patio is open during the summer months. The Izakaya is located on the subterranean level of Momotaro. The Izakaya and its shared-plates pub-inspired menu echoes the Yokocho street scene of Tokyo. Narrow lounge-inspired ‘alleys’ around a central bar bedecked with hand-painted Japanese menus, moody neon lights, and vintage Tokyo street signs set the scene for the Izakaya’s direct nod to Tokyo’s most famous post-war black markets. Paddy O'Fegan's serves over 100 beers, Irish & Canadian whiskies and specialty drinks, along with American traditional and Irish classic cuisine. "Paddy" is first generation Irish. His parents, from Galway Bay, settled on the north side of Chicago where young Paddy was born and raised. He attended Quigley High School and Florida Institute of Technology. He also served two tours with the U.S. Marine Corp in the Middle East. He married late in life because, as Patrick puts it...."it took me a long time to find the woman of my dreams because she had to be imported from Canada!" Cathy was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta in western Canada, and travelled the United States and Europe in her youth as a drummer in a marching band. In college, she majored in Computer Science which opened the door to career opportunities in the States. Shortly after graduating college, she lived on both US coasts before settling in Chicago and becoming a U.S. citizen. Cathy puts things in her own perspective. "I met the man of my dreams in, surprisingly, a local Chicago bar and it was "love at first pint!" They share the dream of Paddy O'Fegan's and make sure their customers and staff have as much fun as they do.
