We are a different sort of yacht club. Sailing excellence and culinary genius may have been paired before, but not like this. In Columbia's world it goes beyond friends, it is family. Columbia is where taking first in a regatta and putting family first meets. Suits of the business and swimming variety are both welcome. Fundraising for pride, not profit. Columbia Yacht Club members live for the moment. The club lives to create incredible moments everyday. Parking passes are available to members. Non members should park in the DuSable or Millenium garage public lots (public parking rates apply.)

When I was young I wanted to be a professional basketball player. I mean, growing up in Jordan's Chicago how could you want anything else? However, there were several hurdles i needed to overcome. Entering high school a whopping 4'11- 110lbs, I started to realize that my dream of entering the NBA would never come true. It was a sad fact that I would have to come to terms with. As time went on, i learned to accept my fate as a non-NBA player. Then something happened...I had a second dream. My new dream was to open my own kayak tour and rental company along the Chicago river. People would come to my shop, rent out a kayak (single or tandem), and enjoy all that beautiful downtown Chicago has to offer. 'The Mac' starts at the Chicago Lighthouse, just off Navy Pier and continues to Mackinac Island. In 2014, the cruising division starts July 18, and the racing divisons July 19. The Mac is widely considered a bucket-list race and has featured world class racers such as Ted Turner; Steve Fawcett; Roy Disney and Larry Ellison, as well as thousands of amateur racers from throughout the US and the world.
