Pi Chapter of Kappa Delta was founded at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln on April 10, 1920. We pride ourselves in succeeding in our five areas of chapter excellence: academic excellence, social success, philanthropy, leadership, and membership. Our philanthropies, KD Quesadillas and Chilifest, raise money for CEDARS and Prevent Child Abuse America, and we work with local Girl Scout troops. Several of our members also volunteer, intern, or work full-time with CEDARS, our local philanthropy! Being a Kappa Delta means finding your sisters for life and making a difference in your community. At the Department of Classics & Religious Studies, we recruit high-achieving students who are excited about intensive, active research, education abroad opportunities and subjects that never go out of style. Studying the “Classics” means learning many disciplines, including history, investigation of the Latin and Greek languages, the development of literary genres, themes and traditions, and the evolution of philosophy, religion, science and the history of ideas. We provide students with an excellent background to pursue graduate work in classical languages and literature, classical archaeology, ancient history, religious studies, literary scholarship and other humane disciplines. The broad and humane education they receive serves as excellent preparation for careers in law, medicine, journalism, ministry, business and education.
