Traffic Jam opened in 1965 at the corner of West Canfield Street and Cass Avenue and has maintained its tradition of being an eclectic neighborhood mainstay with a restaurant that has its own bakery, making breads and desserts, and dairy, making cheese and ice cream. Our products are made from corn (PLA) and sugarcane (leftover pulp after juice extraction). These are an earth friendly alternative to traditional plastics and Styrofoam because they are made from resources that are annually renewable and no oil is used to make them. Also, the natural materials are compostable in 60-90 days in a commercial composting facility where conditions are controlled to meet this specific timeline. Sugarcane products also perform well in a home composter.
