Warren Towers is one of the three Boston University dormitories traditionally intended for underclassmen, the others being The Towers and West Campus. The building is located at central campus, next to the College of Communication (COM) and across from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). Housing approximately 1800 students, it is the second-largest non-military dormitory in the country, behind Jester Center at The University of Texas at Austin. The closest MBTA stop is Boston University East on the Green Line "B" Branch, located directly in front of B and C Towers, in a center reservation on Commonwealth Avenue.NameOriginal nameOriginally, the building’s name was simply "700", in reference to its 700 Commonwealth Avenue address. Its three towers were simply called, from east to west (left to right in the above photo), A Tower, B Tower, and C Tower. The building was first occupied in 1966; residents lived in A and B Towers while construction of C Tower was completed (this fact gave birth to the student "legend" that C Tower was constructed of spare parts from A and B towers). The third tower was completed and occupied in 1967.RenamingIn 1976 the building was rechristened "Warren Towers" as a tribute to three generations of the Warren family at Boston University: William Fairfield Warren (the University's first president), William Marshall Warren (a Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; son of William Fairfield Warren), and Shields Warren (a famous physician; son of William Marshall Warren and grandson of William Fairfield Warren). Additionally, each tower was renamed in honor of one of the men; A Tower is now "Fairfield Tower", B Tower is "Marshall Tower", and C Tower is "Shields Tower". Bronze plaques in the main lobby commemorate the three men. Although these are the formal names of the towers, it is rare to hear anyone refer to them in this way; the A/B/C convention is far more popular.
The Boston University Castle is a Tudor Revival-style mansion owned by Boston University on Bay State Road. The school typically uses it for receptions or concerts, but also rents out The Castle to cater events and special occasions. The BU Castle achieved a small amount of fame in 2007 as a filming location for the Kevin Spacey movie 21.ArchitectureThe building was cited by architectural historian Bainbridge Bunting in his Houses of Boston's Back Bay as displaying “the most convincing medieval effect of the area.”According to Boston University, the building's founder, William Lindsey, would have been pleased by this description. Lindsey had derived his inspiration for the Castle from the great manor houses of Tudor England. "The imposing style of these medieval mansions held a special allure for Lindsey, who, besides being a successful businessman, was also a poet and playwright. His writings, such as The Severed Mantle: A romance of medieval Provence and The Red Wine of Roussillon, a blank-verse drama set in France during the Middle Ages, reveal the same fascination with the antique and the romantic that pervades the design of the Castle."HistoryThe Castle was originally built as a residence for William Lindsey, a prominent Boston businessman who made his fortune with a patented cartridge belt the British Army used during the Boer War. Plans were drawn up in 1904 and construction was completed in 1915 at a cost of more than $500,000.Shortly after the building's completion, Lindsey's eldest daughter was married in the mansion, though she and her bridegroom would later be killed while their honeymoon, aboard the ill-fated Lusitania after the boat was torpedoed by a German submarine. The grief-stricken Lindsey later constructed the magnificent Leslie Lindsey Memorial Chapel in Emmanuel Church on Newbury Street in his daughter's memory.
Bayridge is much more than a dorm or a housing facility. The serious study atmosphere allows students to excel in their chosen degree, while the family atmosphere gives everyone a place to call home. In addition, residents are welcome to participate in a variety of cultural activities offered by the Cultural Center. The residence and cultural center are open to women of all nationalities, creeds, and ethnic backgrounds. The Tipton Hotel is a fictional apartment hotel from the television series The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. Most of the action occurs inside the hotel and it is the main setting for the series, particularly the lobby, the basement, the Tipton's 5-star restaurants, the ballroom, the game room, the Martins' suite on the 23rd floor, and London Tipton's penthouse. The Imperial Suite is the third largest room in the hotel and is where most show guest stars stay. The hotel is located at the city of Boston and the state of Massachusetts. The owner of this fine hotel is Mr. Tipton, and the former manager is Mr. Marion Moseby, who took good care of the hotel. The hotel was built in 1939.

The Boston Latin School is a public "exam school" in Boston, Massachusetts. Established on April 23, 1635, it is the second oldest school (behind the Collegiate School in New York City, founded 1628) and the first public school in the United States. The Public Latin School was a bastion for educating the sons of the Boston "Brahmin" elite, resulting in the School claiming many prominent Bostonians, Massachusetts citizens and New Englanders as alumni. Its curriculum follows that of the 18th century Latin-school movement, which holds the "classics" to be the basis of an educated mind. Four years of Latin are mandatory for all pupils who enter the School in the 7th grade, three years for those who enter in the 9th. In 2007, the School was named one of the top twenty high schools in the United States by U.S. News & World Report magazine.The School was named a 2011 "Blue Ribbon School of Excellence", the U.S. Department of Education's highest award.As of 2016, the School is listed under the "gold medal" list, ranking 51 out of the top 100 high schools in the United States (more than 20,000 public high schools from 50 states and the District of Columbia were analyzed) by U.S. News & World Report magazine.

A DAY IN THE LIFE During a typical day, students in grades 10-11 alternate between weekly academic and vocational schedules with the exception of English and Math. Those classes meet every day, both weeks. Grade ten students attend academic classes during week two and vocational classes during week one. Grade eleven students attend academic classes during week one and vocational classes during week two. Seniors attend all academic classes during one week and vocational during the other to accommodate paid and unpaid internships and co-op opportunities. Grade 9 students receive instruction in an exploratory program to provide the preparation needed to choose one of the many career programs for grades offered. Wheelock College's Center for International Programs and Partnerships was established in 1992 to develop and deliver globally a range of academic degree programs, innovative seminars, and professional development programs. The Center coordinates all of Wheelock College's global endeavors, including its most significant degree-granting programs to date, in Asia and the Caribbean. The Center contributes to the internationalization of the Wheelock College community by coordinating all of the College's global endeavors. This includes the delivery of a range of culturally-responsive, state-of-the-art educational programs abroad in collaboration with local education and health ministries, universities and other educational institutions. Local liaisons earn Wheelock College adjunct faculty appointments to support and enhance the delivery of the overall program. Quality assurance and continuous improvement are thoroughly integrated into every component of the Center's programs. Currently, the Center has the capacity to offer programs leading to an associate of science, bachelor of science and master of science degrees. Each degree program leads seamlessly from one level to the next. The Center also ensures the successful implementation and execution of the Presidential International Service Learning and International Visiting Scholar Programs. These endeavors further augment the range of global opportunities, experiences and research available for the benefit of Wheelock College students, faculty and alumni and those of the Colleges of The Fenway. The Center capitalizes on progressive, innovative and pioneering opportunities abroad to promote Wheelock College's efforts to maintain and enhance its global impact.
