We have had some clients guess that our name was a play on amigo — and though we do like the thought of being referred to as a friend, that’s not it. The name comes from an acronym that we would write about items that came across our desk that we didn’t have the time to deal with. It wasn’t that they were not important, it was simply that they weren’t the best use of our time. (Okay, so some of them weren’t important to us, but apparently needed to be done.)
Anyway, the acronym was MIGA – Make It Go Away. We added the O for Office and OMiga was born.

For 100 years, UMB has been more than a bank. To the communities where we live and do business, we’re a valued community partner. It’s who we’ve been for the first 100 years, and it’s who we’ll be in the future. And it’s one reason why we were excited to team up with St. Louis’s premier sporting organization, the St. Louis Cardinals, to create the UMB Champions Club.
Unveiled in 2012, the UMB Champions Club represents a long-term partnership that unites two 100-year-old brands that are deeply rooted in the community.
