The mission of the SF LGBT Center is to connect our diverse community to opportunities, resources and each other to achieve our vision of a stronger, healthier, and more equitable world for LGBT people and our allies. When visitors arrive at the Center, they find free services like career counseling, job fairs, computer lab, social activities, mentorships, youth meals, daycare, various workshops and much more. Here they can connect with other LGBT people and organize to secure our equal rights. The Center is truly the heart, home and hands of the San Francisco LGBT community.
We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are divinely inspired, verbally and completely inerrant in the original writings and of supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and life. We recognize the value of traditional Jewish literature, but only where it is supported by or conformable to the Word of God. We regard it as in no way binding upon life or faith. We believe in one sovereign God, existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, unbounded in power and measureless in love; that God is the source of all creation and that through the immediate exercise of His power all things came into being. We believe that God the Father is the author of eternal salvation, having loved the world and given His Son for its redemption. We believe that Jesus the Messiah was eternally pre-existent and is co-equal with God the Father; that He took on Himself the nature of man through the virgin birth so that He possesses both divine and human natures. We believe in His sinless life and perfect obedience to the Law; in His atoning death, burial, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, high-priestly intercession and His personal return in power and glory. We believe that the Holy Spirit is co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and the Son; that He was active in the creation of all things and continues to be so in providence; that He convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, and that He regenerates, sanctifies, baptizes, indwells, seals, illumines, guides and bestows His gifts upon all believers. We believe that God created man in His image; that because of the disobedience of our first parents at the Garden of Eden they lost their innocence and both they and their descendants, separated from God, suffer physical and spiritual death and that all human beings, with the exception of Jesus the Messiah, are sinners by nature and practice. We believe that Jesus the Messiah died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; that all who believe in Him are justified, not by any works of righteousness they have done, but by His perfect righteousness and atoning blood and that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. We believe that Israel exists as a covenant people through whom God continues to accomplish His purposes and that the Church is an elect people in accordance with the New Covenant, comprising both Jews and Gentiles who acknowledge Jesus as Messiah and Redeemer. We believe that Jesus the Messiah will return personally in order to consummate the prophesied purposes concerning His kingdom. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost.

All open houses are free to attend, and meditation instruction is always available. Classes and groups include weekend meditation workshops and evening classes, visiting teachers, Yoga classes, and family and childrens programs. Contemplative arts include Shambhala Art, Contemplative Photography, and Ikebana flower arranging. Shambhala is a welcoming community—all are invited to learn to meditate.

Staffed by independent advocates whose expertise, high quality work and integrity have earned the respect of government, industry and academic leaders, ee have built principled and cooperative relationships with these institutions to address the greatest scientific and public policy challenges in the epidemic.
The EDC provides legal assistance to people who are in legal proceedings for eviction in San Francisco. This legal assistance includes guidance in the legal process of evictions, help in preparing papers for people to file in court, possible referrals to other legal resources, hands-on guidance during the settlement conference, and detailed coaching to prepare for a trial. The EDC doesn't provide the services of a lawyer; clients act as their own lawyer. The EDC charges a sliding scale fee for its services and payment plans are possible. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. We also provide a self help packet for people who need to respond to a Summons and are unable to use the EDC's services because of time or other constraints. The EDC can provide help for people living outside of San Francisco, but many of the services are limited. If you are behind in your rent, you may be able to avoid having an eviction filed against you. Our Rental Assistance Disbursement Component (RADCo) provides interest-free loans and grants to tenants residing in the City and County of San Francisco who have fallen behind in their rent due to a temporary financial setback. In 2000, we began publishing Central City Extra, a monthly newspaper for the Tenderloin, Civic Center and Sixth Street corridor. It is the first nonprofit neighborhood newspaper in San Francisco and the only one whose professional journalists also can report from a community service perspective, thanks to our longtime experience as a fiscal sponsor of innovative, successful services in public health, behavioral health, children and families, and the arts.
ALRP is the only institution in the San Francisco Bay Area dedicated to providing free and low-cost legal assistance and education on virtually any civil matter to persons living with HIV/AIDS. This includes widely disparate legal areas such as housing, employment, insurance, immigration, wills, confidentiality matters, family, credit, bankruptcy, tax, government benefits, or public accommodations, to name just a few.

By making the connection between poetry, spoken word, youth development and civic engagement, Youth Speaks aims to deconstruct dominant narratives in hopes of achieving a more inclusive, and active, culture. Believing that young people have the tools to take control of their lives through language, Youth Speaks encourages youth to express themselves using their own vernacular. Youth Speaks believes that having knowledge, practice, and confidence in the written and spoken language is essential to the self-empowerment of an individual. We fill a need for creative approaches to literary arts education and literacy development; we believe it is crucial to provide spaces where youth can undergo a process of personal growth and transformation in a program that enriches their educational, professional, artistic and leadership skills.

The Recording Academy's San Francisco Chapter was the seventh Chapter to open, spearheaded by a local group of industry professionals in 1974. From its beginnings at Golden State Recorders studio to its present location on Page Street in San Francisco's Hayes Valley/Performing Arts district, the Chapter's offices and membership have always reflected the history of the local music industry and the colorful, dynamic, outspoken culture and sounds of the Bay Area. The Bay Area has been one of the most productive and innovative music industry communities for decades. The "Summer of Love" era in the 1960s spawned the "San Francisco Sound" that shaped future generations. It is the birthplace of such legends as Sly & The Family Stone, Jefferson Airplane, Santana, and the Grateful Dead, and home to GRAMMY Award winners such as Santana, Green Day, Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony, Kronos Quartet, Narada Michael Walden, Tom Waits, and Metallica. Today's Bay Area artists carry on a history of activism and social consciousness by supporting numerous causes that benefit the music community worldwide. And the technological influence of Silicon Valley has made the San Francisco Bay Area a growth center for music in a broad range of new media applications. The San Francisco Chapter boasts more than 1,300 members spread throughout Northern California, Northern Nevada, Colorado, and Utah. The San Francisco Chapter has remained true to its unwavering commitment to serve its musicians, music industry professionals and the community at-large. Through its extensive programs, initiatives and member benefits, the Chapter creates music learning and career development opportunities for students and recording industry professionals alike. Each year, the San Francisco Chapter produces educational programs in classrooms, studios and theaters throughout the western region. The Chapter strives to support music education and arts organizations, to foster an open dialogue between all members of our community, and to impart the value of music and develop the next generation of artists and community leaders.
The San Francisco LGBT Pride Celebration Committee (San Francisco Pride) is a non-profit membership organization founded to produce the San Francisco LGBT Pride Celebration & Parade. We are dedicated to education, commemoration of LGBT heritage and celebration of LGBT culture and liberation. A world leader in the Pride movement, we are also a grant-giving organization through our Community Partners Program.

Since June 1994, AGUILAS (Asamblea Gay Unida Impactando Latinos A Superarse)has sponsored an HIV prevention program for gay and bisexual Latinos called "El Ambiente" (literally translated, it means "in the life"). The goal of the program is to prevent the occurrence and relapse of unsafe sexual practices. This is achieved by providing a safe environment and taking in consideration issues specific to Latino culture, and being gay or bisexual. All activities are friendly, interactive and educational. The workshops offered by AGUILAS El Ambiente have been found to reduce high-risk behaviors for HIV infection amongst gay and bisexual Latino men.
