Since 1998, Kitsch'n On Roscoe offers a relaxed & casual neighborhood-style space offering an award-winning brunch and comfort food menu, plus a full bar with a hip 70's "funk-ploitation" theme & too many tongue-in-cheek cultural decor references to mention (beer can collections, lava lamps, Billy Dee Williams "Colt 45" lighted signs, vintage lunchboxes, H&R Puff'n Stuff action figures, etc). This is where it all started... come in for our legendary weekend “Hangover Brunch” and grab a spot by the tiki-bar, sit down with friends at the front counter, or at one of our vintage Formica tables. Our staff will help steer you in to the "cult status" items on the menu that are sure to please. Order yourself a funky drink from the cocktail list, sit back and look around... you'll be sure to notice something that will take your thoughts to “back in the day".

Yes, we are vegetarian, but you won’t miss the meat! We use the finest ingredients, like free-range eggs (no hormones), fresh fruit, real whipped cream and great coffee. We’ve made the atmosphere uplifting and peaceful; even the sugar packets offer an inspiring message! Victory’s Banner is one of Chicago’s most popular breakfast restaurants. The Chicago Reader calls us, "one of the best breakfast houses in Chicago, period." The Chicago Reader Restaurant Rater Poll has rated us the #1 breakfast spot. WTTW Channel 11's program, Check Please, featured us and praised our "Zen-like environment." WBBM's Sherman Kaplan offered us a rare K Rating of 20 out of 20, and Centerstage Chicago states, "Victory’s Banner is an unrivaled spot for a.m. eats." We are both honored and grateful for these accolades.
Editorial Review of Fullerton Restaurant A slightly cheaper, greasy spoon diner stasis between Hollywood Grill to the south and Golden Nugget to the north, this Bucktown spot shuts its doors before the bar set can flood – 7 p.m. on weeknights, even earlier on the weekend. It largely dishes $4.95 breakfast and lunch specials to the hungover set in throngs, who really could care less that the place is drenched in beat-up, pink pleather booths and matching pink Venetian blinds. The menu is poster diner, with salads, burgers and melts easily scored for $5-$6, while chops and dinner plates fall anywhere between $8 for a roast half chicken and $13 for a NY strip. The one odd exception to 'diner' would be the Korean-inspired bul-go-gi dish, which is just some sliced up rib-eye marinated with a little sugar and a side of rice ($11). And then of course all that good American comfort food comes with a requisite bowl of soup or salad, potato, vegetable, etc. Keep count on coffee, though, there’s a two-refill minimum. Average cost:

Smallcakes believes in its slogan of “Maybe a Cupcake Will Help?” and has been growing their neighborhood cupcakery across the world. Over the course of our history, the brick tied house at the corner of Belmont and Southport has hosted tenants that helped shape Chicago’s personality. Originally built as a tap room by the Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company in 1903, the homey corner bar would later transform into Schubas Tavern, one of the North Side’s preeminent music clubs. Nestled right next door, our Harmony Grill flaunts both its history and proximity to musical derring-do. As diners gather around tables and booths lit by intimate seashell hanging lamps, stained glass windows and ornate molding compete for eyes’ attention with the murals, paintings, and photographs of musicians that cover the walls. In the kitchen, chefs preside over menus brimming with contemporary, regional American cuisine featuring ingredients sourced from local and regional producers. Our tactics reflect this obsession with freshness; we make all soups, sauces, and desserts in-house daily, ensuring that ingredients remain unspoiled and naïve enough to go into the pot willingly. All of this attention to culinary detail pays off at lunch and dinner, of course. Then, chefs accent home-style mac 'n' cheese with combinations of more than 30 toppings, and build beef or veggie burgers, traditional Cuban sandwiches, and shrimp po' boys. We also specialize in brunch, crafting sweet seasonal pancakes, Mexican-inspired egg dishes, and French toast from scratch each weekend. Barkeeps also get a chance to shine, pouring a dozen draft beers—including imports as well as local brews—and local rye whiskeys and vodka. Try us once, and we'll be seeing you often.
