The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts offers an Associate’s degree in Film and TV Performance, as well as an optional third year focused on acting for the stage. Our programs are dedicated to providing professional acting training that is practical, relevant, and rigorous. Every year we travel, see and audition thousands of aspiring actors only to allow a select few into our conservatory. Those students get the opportunity to experience the most demanding, comprehensive and rewarding acting training for today's aspiring actor. Acting is not a prerequisite for admission. The Art Moderne styled Art Theatre first opened at 36 east 8th Street in 1930, starting out as a late-run showcase for American and foreign movies, but became a first-run theater in the late 1950’s. The Art Theatre was later became the Movieland. In the mid-90s architects Davis Brody Bond was hired to renovate the building for use by NYU and added the facade.

Deutsches Haus, New York’s leading institution for culture and language of the German-speaking world. Located in the heart of New York's Greenwich Village, Glucksman Ireland House is the center for Irish Studies at New York University, with courses in history, Irish language, literature, music, and politics. NYU undergraduates may pursue a minor or a B.A./M.A. in Irish and Irish-American Studies. Graduate students may earn a Masters in Irish and Irish-American Studies For the New York community, we present a weekly public events series during the academic year, as well as a monthly traditional Irish music series. For the non-credit adult learner, we host evening Irish language classes. We also serve as a resource center for Irish, Irish-American, and Irish diasporic culture.

Capoeira Luanda practices a style of Capoeira known as Capoeira Regional Contemporanea. This style is derived from movements and sequences developed by Mestre Bimba, as well as influences and evolutions of Capoeira from the founding Mestre of Capoeira Luanda. Capoeira Luanda was founded on April 6th, 2007, after a long process of research and study under the direction and guidance of Mestre Jelon Vieira. Today, Capoeira Luanda has spread internationally with centers and academies in the United States, Australia, Brazil, Germany, Spain, France, Peru, Colombia, Italy, and Turkey. The root of the name Luanda is a homage to Mestre Eziquiel Martins, who founded the Grupo Luanda de Capoeira in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil in 1963. Another inspiration behind the name Luanda was meaning of the word Luanda in Yoruba language which means “the junction of the moon and the earth” and “Peace and imaginary land” in the dialect Bantu. Luanda is the capital of Angola and was one of the most important ports during the slave trade when Africans were taken to the Americas as chattel. Luanda is one of the cities in West Africa where Africans said the last good bye for those who never returned. It was the Africans from the slave trade that contributed to the richness of the African Culture in Brazil.
Founded in 1977, The Drummers Collective is a place where drummers from all over the world come to perfect and hone their skills as a musician. The Drummers Collective is a division of The Collective School of Music.

Founded in 1953 by Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino, Joffrey Ballet School maintains the vision of its founders to transform passionate dance students into versatile, individualistic artists able to collaborate and evolve fluidly in a fast-changing society. With an accredited dance program that offers two core areas of study – ballet and jazz/contemporary – Joffrey is known for its diverse curriculum as well as being the largest summer intensive training program in the country. I have been a dedicated practitioner of yoga since 1992. I am a certified Yoga Therapist and maintain a private practice in New York City. I work with individuals with a range of structural, physiological and emotional conditions. I specially enjoy working with children and adults who have serious, life-threatening illnesses such as cancer. I have extensive experience working with the terminally ill as a certified doula, one who provides comfort and companionship for persons at the end of life. I'm a thirteen year survivor of breast cancer myself, and I found a daily yoga practice to be emotionally, physically and mentally sustaining during all stages of my treatment, recovery and remission. I feel my life's work is to share yoga with people on their own journeys through cancer. Specialties: Reflexology, Reiki and Doula (one who provides comfort and companionship for persons at the end of life).

Liberty is a carefully designed Bilingual/English as a Second Language school that meets the special needs of newly-arrived non-English speaking immigrant students. Our students represent approximately fifty countries and speak nearly thirty different languages. We celebrate our diversity through various celebrations and activities. Many of our teachers and support staff members are from countries around the world. Our bilingual programs serve Chinese, Spanish, and Polish-speaking youngsters. We have an extensive ESL program. We have three computer labs and a mobile laptop unit. Our library has books that are academically, culturally, and linguistically representative of our students. Grace Church School at 86 Fourth Avenue between East 10th and 12th Streets in the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, was founded in 1894 by Grace Church as the first choir boarding school in New York City.[1] The day school began in 1934.[1] In 1947 Grace became a co-educational school and was admitted to the Guild of Independent Schools of New York City. In the following decade the school began to expand its facilities to accommodate a growing student body. From the original 16 choristers, Grace has grown to its current enrollment of over 400 boys and girls drawn from a wide variety of ethnic, economic, and religious backgrounds. It offers complete secondary education from pre-K to eighth grade.[2] While the school has continued its close relationship with Grace Church, since 1972 it has been governed by an independent Board of Trustees, and it is a fully accredited member of the New York State Association of Independent Schools and the National Association of Independent Schools. In 2006, the School became a legal entity separate from the Church, and now owns the buildings at 84-96 Fourth Avenue, including the historic and landmarked church houses Clergy House, Memorial House and Neighborhood House.[3]
