Wynkoop Brewing Company is part of craft beer history. Founded in 1988 by a group of passionate craft beer lovers led by current Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper. Our brewpub’s hallmarks -- highly acclaimed small-batch beers, high quality food & service, the city’s best pool hall and our glorious 1888 building -- helped make us a major catalyst for the revival of Lower Downtown Denver. Today Wynkoop Brewing Company is a beer-blessed Denver institution, a must-visit Colorado landmark and one of the nation’s most revered craft breweries. We’re also one of the city’s best places for private and corporate events. We’ve hosted everything from Democratic National Convention parties to beer festivals, weddings and company conferences. (All with great beer and food.) Today we’re expanding our downtown brewing efforts to deliver more of our ambitious, artisan-style craft beer to Denver’s best beer outlets. Look for our full line of cans in local stores and kegs of all of our beers at the area’s top bars and restaurants. Our History Our pioneering brewpub (Colorado’s first) is housed in the glorious J. S. Brown Mercantile Building, built in 1899. The Mercantile Company was a cornerstone of the young Denver economy and one of the city’s most impressive early buildings. Its hardwood floors, thick timber pillars and pressed-tin ceilings are still in place today. Miners, ranchers and city folks walked this building looking for goods to furnish their Western adventures and frontier homes. In 1899 our main floor served as the Mercantile’s original showroom. Today it’s home to our main bar, restaurant, brewery and kitchen. On the south side of our main floor is our Mercantile Room, now a renovated banquet room replete with high ceilings and expansive arched windows. The giant metal door you see by the main bar? It was once the door to the building’s main vault. Today it holds a different sort of valuables: our brewers and their office. The second floor is the home of Wynkoop Billiards, arguably the city's most elegant pool hall. We have 22 pool tables, two private pool rooms, dart lanes and a bar serving most of the same acclaimed beers you find downstairs. This floor also houses some of our most popular banquet rooms, and the entire floor and pool hall are available for private functions. The backbar on this floor was rescued from the original tasting room of the old Tivoli Brewery, a famed Denver brewery located at what is now the Auraria college campus. In our basement you’ll find the serving tanks for all of our beers, and we now hand can our beers down there, too. The Impulse Theater is also on our basement level and welcomes grinning crowds to its hugely popular improv-comedy shows. Cheers!
We are part of Denver's craft beer history. Back in the 1980s, our founder Richard Squire was your typical ski bum – with one significant difference. He had a knack for making extraordinary home brews. For years, only his closest friends were able to enjoy his creations, but it didn’t take long for Richard to realize that his talents needed to be shared with the world. As with our beer, Breckenridge Colorado Craft isn’t afraid to take chances with our food. Featuring gourmet burgers and appetizers that will make your mouth water, Colorado Craft has created a delicious, well-rounded menu that will satisfy your hunger while our taps take care of your thirst.
Authentic German style beers brewed on an antique copper brewhouse. History of the brewery The Brewery was made by the Ziemann GmbH in 1963. It was installed at the Bucher Bräu in the German city of Grafenau and used there until 1984. In 1984 it was overhauled and sold to Brauerei Hümmer of Breitengüßbach, Germany, a village in the Franconian region of Bavaria. Brauerei Hümmer started brewing beer in the Franconian village of Breitengüßbach in 1642. The brewery served the town for over 350 years until the spring of 2011. It made several styles including Altfränkisches Dunkel Bier, a rare specialty beer that we will revive in Denver. Alpine Dog is a term coined for Coloradans. While we do love our dogs, this term goes deeper than that. It is a reflection of the people. In Colorado we love the mountains. It's where we go to play; it's where we go to exercise, relax, make friends and have fun getting away. Whether its crushing single track on a mountain bike, tearing up the slopes on skis or a snowboardi, hiking one of CO's 54 14ers, or just enjoying a brew and a view: we are the Alpine Dogs because of our passion for the high country. At the brewery, we strive to extend that passion to our beer. We want to be sure to share our passion with all the folks who believe a great beer is the perfect complement to life in our great state and beyond. We maintain the adventurous, independent spirit in life and brewing with big unique beers, an affinity for hops, Belgian style ales and an uncompromising attitude about settling for nothing but the best beer possible. We are also dog friendly, so bring those pups to the pub!
Cocks-Clark Graphics (CCG) was founded by William M. Cocks and Chas. A. Clark. Through their collaboration, they gained entry into Denver's printing industry as Cocks-Clark Engraving in 1909 and became distinguished as the largest supplier of copper and brass engraved plates west of the Mississippi. By 1929, the company outgrew its original location and built their current building at 2200 Arapahoe Street in lower downtown Denver, where we reside today! The prepress services business continued to expand to include an international client base of Fortune 500 companies, as well as a growing Denver and regional based clientele. In the early 1960's, the company helped pioneer one of the most innovative packaging methods of the time, the first two-piece aluminum can with the Adolph Coors Company. In 1991 the company developed a separation technique for printing photo images (wet on wet) on an aluminum can, countless images separated with this technique followed including the 1994 Sprite NBA Player Collectible Series and the 2003 X-Men Movie promotion, to mention only two. In 1997 the company was instrumental in developing the first ever magazine quality waterless can with Alcoa, it’s debut and full story written up in September 1997 issues of Canmaker and CanTech magazines. Today the innovations continue as we are the first trade-shop in North America to offer computer-to-plate steel backed letterpress and narrow web cyrel plates from our hybrid digital plate making system. Over 100 years of success has matured into the present Cocks-Clark Graphics, a company dedicated to the pursuit of new technology with proven experience, ready to meet the quality, speed and growing needs of its customers.
