Sector Upper Mississippi River,located in St. Louis, MO is comprised of 11 states and more than 2,200 miles of commercially navigable waterway including the Mississippi River, Illinois River and the Missouri River. Sector Upper Mississippi River is comprised of active, reserve, civilian and auxiliary members. SUMR is responsible for five river buoy tenders and three Marine Safety Detachments.SUMR works closely with the Army Corps of Engineers, FEMA, EPA, state and local response agencies as well as the maritime industry. Part of the Department of Homeland Security, the men and women of SUMR are vital in protecting the 1,200 miles of coastline and 10,300 miles of inland navigable waterways located in their area of responsibility.

The HEAL (Healthy Eating, Active Living) Partnership is the City of St. Louis Department of Health's response to the growing rate of chronic disease mortality. This Partnership, comprised of over 40 local organizations, works to increase access to physical activity opportunities, healthy eating, and increase access to health care to reduce the rate of obesity and overweight in the City of St. Louis.
The Saint Louis Mental Health Board is a special tax district in the City of St. Louis as set forth by state statute. The Saint Louis Mental Health Board is the Substance Abuse/Mental Health and Children’s Services authority for the City of St. Louis. As such, MHB administers public funds for behavioral health and children’s services for the benefit of city residents. MHB administers these funds by investing in community programs, projects, partnerships and initiatives that are focused on supporting city residents to achieve positive results and/or experience favorable impacts. MHB does not provide direct services – please refer to our Community Investments and Resources pages for information on direct service programs.
Missouri Arts Council, a state agency and division of the Department of Economic Development, provides over $6.5 million a year to nonprofit organizations through grants that meet our strategic goals: -Increase participation in the arts in Missouri -Grow Missouri’s economy using the arts -Strengthen Missouri education through the arts MAC awards grants to organizations to stimulate the growth, development, and appreciation of the arts in Missouri. This funding makes possible quality arts programming to communities throughout Missouri. In addition to financial assistance, MAC provides expertise in community development, fundraising, marketing, grantwriting, arts education, artistic disciplines (visual arts, music, literature, theater, dance, festivals, and film/media) and more.
