Our Mission We know Washington DC is made up of active communities of readers and writers – continuously self-educating themselves and always striving to achieve their highest level of individual and community potential. Our mission is to support those reading and writing communities by providing a family friendly environment where people can attend culturally diverse events, participate in community centered programs, and buy and trade affordable books. About Walls of Books Walls of Books - DC is part of a great family of Walls of Books stores located throughout the country. In 2007, Shane and Abbey Gottwals founded Gottwals Books - a used book store in Warner Robins, GA, carrying a wide range of genres for all age groups and interests. Since then, the original location in Georgia tripled in size and several other stores opened in the area. Gottwals Franchising, Inc. developed the concept into a full franchise opportunity package. The goal of the Walls of Books family is to provide a great selection of books with fair prices, an incredible array of special order options, and fantastic value for trade credit (for used books) and cash purchases (for college textbooks). Plus, we will always (most times) serve you with a smile. Around here, we all love books. That’s why Walls of Books intends to promote the joy of reading with every book sold.
